President Bush Welcomes President-Elect of Mexico to the White House
Office of the Press Secretary ^ | 09 Nov 2006 | Office of the Press Secretary

2:31 P.M. EST

PRESIDENT BUSH: It is my pleasure to have welcomed the President-elect of Mexico here to the Oval Office. I have had a fascinating and important conversation. This is a man who won a very good election. I'm proud of the Mexican people for conducting an election that is -- was open and honest. We've spent a lot of time talking about vital issues. I have made it very clear to the President-elect that Mexico is a priority of this administration.

I know a fair amount about Mexico; after all, I was the governor of Texas. I assured him that we will work very closely together. We talked about trade. We talked about mutual interests, fighting drugs, and we talked, of course, about migration. And I assured the President-elect that the words I said in the very Oval Office that we sit about a comprehensive immigration vision are words I still believe strongly.

And so I want to welcome you here. I wish you all the best as you -- on your inauguration, on your big day. And I'm looking forward to working very closely with you.

PRESIDENT-ELECT CALDERON: Thank you, Mr. President. (Speaking Spanish.)

PRESIDENT BUSH: Did you understand that?

Q No.

PRESIDENT-ELECT CALDERON: (As translated.) President Bush and I had a very good conversation today. And we reaffirmed the purpose that we both had, which is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States even more.

I expressed to President Bush my concern regarding the issue of migration. President Bush was very open to all the arguments that I have presented to him. And we both stressed the need to have a comprehensive vision with which we can move forward. This is, of course, an extremely important issue. It is not the only issue in our bilateral relationship.

We want to foster our trade relationship, our economic relationship even more. We both understand that the only solution to many of the problems that we have is to create well-paid jobs in Mexico. And for that, we need even more investment. We will continue to show the importance of democracy, the importance of free trade, the importance of all of these issues that will make us an even stronger nation, which will also strengthen the bilateral relationship.

And we were able to have a conversation between two people -- two people who have very much in common. And we both look forward to a very constructive relationship in the future.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Gracias. Thank you.

END 2:35 P.M. EST

PRESIDENT-ELECT CALDERON: (As translated.) ...I expressed to President Bush my concern regarding the issue of migration.

Now what on Earth could be the Mexican president's "concerns" regarding the migration issue? Oh yeah, I know, his concern is that we won't allow his underclass and criminal class to migrate to our country. We are such a stupid country. We should offer the Mexicans the same immigration rules that they apply in their country. A Costa Rican trying to illegally immigrate to Mexico is likely to be shot.

Time to kill Frankenstein's monster or burn Dracula's castle, which ever is appropriate. We can do this by either not supporting businesses that hire illegals or not supporting a Gov. and/or President that is willing to let it happen.

"We are such a stupid country"

I disagree. Poll after poll was taken over the last year or so and the American citizens by and large are against "Amnesty".

The stupidity (greed, disconnect, arrogance or what ever) is at the top of the food chain. The POTUS.

Here in Virginia, Allen lost to Webb by 9,000 votes out of a total of 2,369,335 cast. I wonder what's the chance that the 1,165,920 legal, tax paying US citizens who voted for Allen might have been disenfranchised by the votes of a few thousand illegals?

I copied those awhile back, used to send them in for donations to the RNC.

Like I said earlier, if this was 1776 instead of 2006, we would take care of this a bit more forcefully. But today is the time of status quo, so we'll just lay in the sun like good yellow dogs.

I've been saying the same thing about JD in Arizona.

"That Bush would sell us out after the GOP House defeated those bills, and then turn his back on those of us who voted for him and run to the Democrats to enable his vision of Mexamerica, is beyond comprehension."

Well, as I've said a few times here on FR (jokingly of course)...it sure seems like someone close to Vinny Phocks has a video of GWB in his earlier days of ummm "youthful indiscretion" doing lines of toot off the belly of a Tijuana Stripper.

Excuse me, Mr. President Bush, but I hope you have not forgotten that you are employed by the United States of America, not Mexico!

Maybe Bush needs to go back to elementary school and learn how to spell B-O-R-D-E-R.

Amnesty and illegal immigration is a Trojan Horse which will sooner, rather than later, ride into the heart of America and set up a new government. Borders will be erased and we will all feed at the government trough which will be filled with swill fit for swine...get ready to divide your estate...there must be enough to go around. Hillary has said that we will "take" from you (taxpayers) whatever she needs.
George Bush should have done better for our country.

Did KarLaRazaRove finish wiping the Dirty Sanchez off of his upper lip yet after finding out how many Hispanics DIDN'T vote Republican? Hmmmm, I believe the figure bandied about over the last day or so was 67% Hispanics voted for the DUmmies. Way to go KKKKAAARRRRRLLLLLLLLLL.

Great! What has been my reconciliation at this site since the election has been how wrong the head-in-the-sand kool-aid drinking, pubs-can do-no-wrong, lost their a$$es in this election. They questioned last election why a doofus like Kerry could have been so close. Then as this war became a politically correct, run by Rummy here & went totally south, they still called him "Da Man". All of the crapola about Rove as the mastermind finally has to soak in that he is 30% a mastermind as Atwater. I sure miss him. That group was wrong & the few of my ilk here were right & prevailed over all of the rants thrown our way. Conservatism 1st - party 2nd.

Take note how Mr. JR and the mod squad removed my post critical of Jorge's immigration amnesty policies.

Now, I know that this issue doesn't bother JR one whit, in fact, he sides with Bush's proposed immigration policy, but someone certaily got their panties in a bunch over the post, huh?

Lighten up Mr. post police, you will certainly get the dems to pass your bill for you.

Are you going to delete this post, as well?

Seems there certainly is and has been a push around here in that regard. I suspect it will only get worse as Bush continues to align himself with the OBL, Calderon and the Dims on this issue in days to come. We'll see if it results again in mass bannings here at FR.
