And the obstructionism begins

Sorry to disagree, but Bolton couldn't get approved even with the Republican majority. The obstructionism was well in place, even before the Dems won the majority, and sad to say it was Republicans that were part of it.

Sure he can use recess over and over till end of his term on Bolton or DummyRATs finally give him his vote. RATs are no longer advising and consenting on Bolton, only obstructing his nomination vote. Bush is perfectly free to sidestep Dems as long as they desire to sidestep their duty to advise and consent.

To veto what? Another forceful resolution from the U.N.? All those clowns do is talk as if they are important and then draft some piece of s*** document that is 129 pages long and says nothing. They are worthless. Besides, if we pull out, the entire body effectively disintegrates. Then we can start collecting parking fines from all the criminal thug diplomats.

It's going to be one trick after another, from the Dem's

Republican President's have been stuck with Dem majorities many times. Even with Republican majority, Bush had troubles with the "Republican obstructionists"...so I don't think all is lost.

Best suggestion I've heard yet. Yes, we have a veto, but is a veto as effective as hands-on protection of our allies, and ourselves, against the corrupt machinations of the UN.

Well, at least Bolton won the respect of George Voinovich- so he has that going for him.

""Recess nomination again."

...not sure W can do that....anyone??"

He can. But I don't believe he can for Bolton.

I would make the Ambassador to the UN Rummy.

I know there is little meaning to us being there as far as resolutions that matter that effect us, but being on the security council we have killed anti Israel resolutions. If you feel that matters.

"Thank you conservatives and freepers that abadoned us and surrendered to the donks. Thank you. If Bolton does not get confirmed, I lay this at the feet of Michelle Malkin, Rich Lowery, Bill Kristol And their ilk for bashing the GOP for the past year, thus discouraging some voters. Thank you BIG MOUTH MICHELLE!"

LOL. Chafee did this last year too. And so did Voinovich.

The bluebloods stuck together.

"An now they know why they are out."

Do they really? After listening to the President's press conference yesterday, I'm convinced they don't have a clue!

I agree 100%. But Chafee did not lose this election for us. Voters that abadoned us for the donks did.

Plan 'B' would involve cutting off ALL UN funding 'til Bolton gets his hearing. The congress is the only federal agency that has the power to provide funds and I doubt that they would cut off funding from their brothers the left-wing fascist.

I agree Chaffee and Voinvich screwed us last year with Bolton, yet if we would have won this election, we could have confirmed Bolton. Will not happen now bcause we lost because some voters were fooled and abandoned us like french soldiers retreating from a battle.

"Recess appointment isn't really an option now because US Law is clear that Bolton could not get paid for a 2nd recess appointment. Pretty sure he isn't going to work for free."

Okay.

So recess appoint Ann Coulter.

I'm not joking.

Enough with the playing nice crap.

Just heard Tony Snow say on the Hewitt(?) show that they were going to try to get a vote on Bolton during the lame duck congress. That means before the DEMS take control, right? Why would Frist say they would not vote?? We need Bolton in the UN!
