No Plan for Bolton Confirmation in Senate

WASHINGTON — U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton won't get a hearing before the 109th Congress adjourns, effectively killing any chance he would have of being confirmed for his post. Members of the current Senate coming together next week in a lame duck session to vote on remaining spending bills left unfinished before the October campaign season, but they are not going to vote on Bolton, staff members for Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told FOX News on Thursday.

If Bolton does not get confirmed, I lay this at the feet of Michelle Malkin, Rich Lowery, Bill Kristol And their ilk for bashing the GOP for the past year, thus discouraging some voters. Fine. Don't appoint anyone. Withdraw funding for the U.N. and barricade the building for condemnation. If that's what the Dims want, give it to 'em.

I am not sure he can "recess" him again. But I understand he could put Bolten in a lower position that does not require Senate confirmation. And simply not nominate anyone for the position of UN Ambassador.
This sucks. Chafee held it up and now hes gotten defeated.
We need Bolton at UN!
