Never happen. There are a lot of people who hate mention of anything Clinton and a lot more who would never vote for a woman president. We could parade David Duke in front of this woman and still win the presidency. I hope to god she runs and wins the primary. Funny I have a friend who never votes (don't ask why) but he said tonight he would register to vote just to vote against Hillary and then retire from voting again.

I will never again under estimate the power of the main stream media again. People just dont have the time to care and if the main stream media promotes her as a hero, they will beleive them.

My younger sister has said all along that she will vote for Hillary, solely based on the fact that Hillary will be the first woman running for president. I do not underestimate the power of the sentimental vote when it comes to Hillary.

Not to mention, there are people that think the long-suffering Senator deserves to be repaid in kind and sent to the WH.

Then there are those who get a kick out of the Clintons triumphant return to the WH, where the two of them will tag-team the nation.

ALL of these reasons to vote for Hillary seem pitiful to me. How people can blythely just toss away the gravity of an election and vote based on sentimentality makes my blood boil.

You are forgetting the woman's vote. There is a legion of revanchest, bitter, middle aged women out there who bought into the whole feminist spiel who will vote for her if only because, "It's our turn now"

We could defeat her in the primaries if we register as a democrat. The Dems do it all the time, quite effectively, and it does make some sense.

The other tactic is to support a "green" party candidate. Triangulation = a popular trick of the Democrats (used in some states in this election).

Also, we MUST find a way to compete with, or by-pass the Media.... they ARE the enemy.

I used to think Hillary! had no shot, and prayed that she would win the primary, so that she could go down in defeat.

Not anymore, not after the last election. This country has a voting public who, by and large, are not as well educated as your average FReeper with regards to politics and the system. We like to herald the demise of the MSM here on FR (and I do believe it's weakened over the years), but in reality, to the average soccer mom, or your bank teller, or your grocer, or your bar owner or your dry cleaner, or your kid's teacher, or your co-worker, they remain the only source of news. Nowadays, people may go online to read their articles, but that's not really using the Internet as a source, that's just accepting the MSM spin on your own time, instead of at 6:30 PM on the TV.

I don't know how to stop this continual slide into banal materialistic pleasure seeking that is the root cause of our nation's political apathy. People would rather keep up with their fantasy football, or the local gossip at the salon, or vote in their favorite American Idol than actually educate themselves about politics. "It's too much WORK, and they (politicians) are all the SAME anyway, so why bother?", they moan.

I've said this before on FR and got flamed for it. I think Nov 7th proved my assertion though. Until we, as a whole, convince our fellow Americans that it IS more important than fantasy football or American Idol, it's not really going to get much better.

Never say never... their friends are in the process of buying the Los Angeles Times. Wanna bet it won't be the only newspaper. CNN and MSNBC no longer try to hide their bias and Fox is becoming more left wing by the day. The uneducated among us are becoming more brainwashed by the day... and that, my friend, is the original Clinton plan back in Arkansas days, only now implemented on a much larger scale.

Watch for the term: "for the common good" to become a household word over the next two years.
