I don't think it works if the so-called offense falls under "Official Duties". Otherwise, they'd have been extraditing Americans for "War Crimes" since 1945. (Marching Iraqis around with frilly underthingeys in their heads is a "war crime" but Dresden isn't?) If Rumsfeld were found with a hotel room full of live boys or dead girls they'd be able to extradite him but all that I think this means is that he can't go to Germany on vacation. Not that he would. I certainly wouldn't.

I have the utmost respect for the female soldiers getting the job done in our military right now. But this ex-BG is the liberal lesbian politics of DACOWITS coming home to roost.
She was the poor military leader who did not manage her troops at Abu Graihb, and in the investigation of her and in their trials, she had nothing but her personal opinion as to what her superiors wanted or would allow in terms of treatment of prisioners - she had no evidence that anyone directed her to allow what her troops committed.
As the prosecutors said - it was a nite-crew, poorly led (by her), allowed to operate on their own and making pornographic pictures as a game.
