The surprising thing is that any one with a rating of 99% or lower is called a RINO around here.

:)

He would probably score in the 40s.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rudy scored much higher than that.

I only use the RINO label for those who deserve it(Shays, Specter, Chafee, Collins, etc)

Of course it did. DeWine was just plain creepy.

The deer in the headlights look.

I got bored and played around with Excel and it showed some interesting trends. If I ever find ten free hours I'll go back a few more years.

2004 2005
Congress as a whole 51.93 52.36

Senate (whole) 53.04 52.86
(republicans) 88.87 86.35
(democrats) 9.72 11.93

House (whole) 51.66 52.24
(republicans) 87.24 85.94
(democrats) 12.09 13.72

Democrats (all) 11.64 13.40
Republicans (all) 87.57 86.02

In every case, the democrats moved right and the republicans moved left. This while the republicans controlled congress and the white house, during a war.

Overall, congress moved right, I would assume because republicans controlled the agenda. But all the right movement was from the democrats. Weird.

(excuse the formatting, I'm not HTML right now)

Of course, Sen. Mel Martinez scored a 100, and he has been called a RINO (because of his immigration stance).

Landrieu and Ben Nelson would rate as Blue Dog Democrats. Too bad there are so many RINOs and hard core liberals in the Senate.

Only Ben Nelson (D - Nebraska) bested the GOP's worst, the defeated Lincoln Chafee (37%).

Yep. There's more than a dimes worth of difference between the R's and the D's.

You saved me a lot of time. Thanks again for compiling the list. I harken to the heralded Joe Lieberman who so many here were touting --- his 17% lifetime rating and the same posters BLAST Lincoln Chafee...lol.

Yup. The people who hate Chafee and Dewine are entirely unrealistic.

It's okay to hate DeWine. But when it comes time to vote it's not okay to be ruled by one's emotions.

If I was in Ohio, I would have held my nose and voted for DeSwine.

He'd probably score similar to or slightly BETTER than Arlen Specter.
