I bet that this case will reach the appeals courts, and possibly the SCOTUS.

Don't bet too much.

-- The fed courts usually 'uphold' the concept that Congress can prohibit 'dangerous' types of weapons, and the SCOTUS simply refuses to hear the case.

The only thing that will end the stalemate, imo, -- is a State refusing to cooperate with the feds.
