Sorry about getting the year wrong in my post. The speech President Reagan gave in behalf of Barry Goldwater in Vallejo, Ca. was in 1964, not 1963 as I had stated.

I love this post. Thanks so much for sharing. It brings to mind such fond memories.
I don't remember the exact quote, but he said something like I don't worry about the deficit, it is big enough to take care of itself.
Ya me too. I'm 33 now. My formative teen years were dominated by Reagan as President. I grew up thinking America is Conservative and Republicans are the regular people.
Apology accepted and thanks for the heads-up.
In January 1982, President Ronald Reagan approved a CIA plan to sabotage the economy of the Soviet Union through covert transfers of technology that contained hidden malfunctions, including software that later triggered a huge explosion in a Siberian natural gas pipeline, according to a new memoir by a Reagan White House official. The book mentioned in the article is a good one.
Me too. It was the first election I was able to vote in also. I too voted for him twice.
That was so funny!
If Reagan's reading this board up in Heaven, he should know that he's genuinely missed down here.
"You know damn well that Reagan is looking down at us and saying: "Well, there they (the democrats) go again.""
Reagan is looking down at us saying: "F'ing Ross Perot".
bttt

Too bad the republicans of today would never say that. Personal attack, personal attack! I wish the republicans would get some...
We'll never see another one like him, I fear...not in our lifetime.

lol!
one of my favorites was in a press conference banter between President Reagan and Sam Donaldson. Sam was badgering the president when a birthday cake walked into the conference honoring Reagan....Donaldsaon billowed out,"Mr President, are you gonna bride us with cake so you can stop answering questions?"
The Gippers paused looked right at Sam and said "
Oh Sam, you were brided with so much less".
BUMP!!!
your very welcome ;)

There was a national outpouring of affection and respect for Reagan when he died. The liberal media was stunned and confounded by the magnitude of this event. They still don't get it.
Excellent definitions!
You're being much too nice about the mediacrats. I tend to take a much harsher view of them: Instead of not getting it, I think the media was furious that America embraced Reagan when we said goodbye to him. But for the first time in their wretched careers, the mudia needed to behave. Or else...
Thanks for posting these, ...funny, witty, honest ..and wish he were here.
On that day I hear about Libya smackdown by President Reagan after school I ran home to put on the 3:30pm news on one of local channel I was smiling thinking don't mess with this President Col Qudafaky LOL!
Not all that nice really. See my post #90 on the active Pelosi News Networkds thread.

"This irreconcilable conflict[the cold war] is between those believe in the sanctity of individual freedom and those who believe in the supremacy of the state" -June 1957
Seems like we are still fighting that fight with the Democrats (my comment)
"This evil enemy would deny us our God and...imbues his own youth, and those of ours he can reach, with a fervor of the false god of Marx and his false prophet Lenin." -1965
Both of your posts, #84 and #85 are so right on, aren't they?
