There is no need to fix Iraq. It was never broke. Amazing how utterly arrogant the Dincons are. Did they EVER bother to investigate the fact that the SANE Muslims are right NOW doing the vast bulk of the fighting and drying for OUR side in Iraq? No, the Neo Isolationists could not be bother to learn that fact. It was only told them 10,000 times the last 3 years. Now they want to come tell us to do what WE HAVE ALL READY DONE! Thanks Neo Isolationists. We now get the worst of both worlds. Conservatives get tagged with the blame for going to Iraq but will get NONE of the credit for winning it. Go ahead read the data at the links.

What have you got to lose?

http://icasualties.org/oif/

http://icasualties.org/oif/IraqiDeaths.aspx

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_Security_Forces

If the Dinocons would ever shut up and simply listen to the facts on Iraq they would know this. But no it was more import for them to cling arrogantly to their ignorant Neo Isolationist dogmas then learn the facts. They all got what they wanted on Tuesday.

You people did everything you could to make Tuesday happen. Don't come whining to us who told you now about "the Danger". We have been telling you it every day for years.

You people could not be bothered with the facts. NO, you simply screamed names and slogans at us instead of LISTENING. We lost Tuesday because YOU people all felt it was more important to scream your hate and bile at Bush instead OF LISTENING TO THE FACT.

So quit writing all these useless lectures and vanities 100%ers at people WHO told you so. Quit blaming everyone else. The people with your 100% or nothing dogmas caused us to lose Tuesday and NO ONE else.

We lost because a bunch of Know Nothing losers like Mike Savage spent all their time shooting their own side in the back.

We lost because people were so busy spending all their time squealing at their own side they forgot to spend any time getting the GOPs message getting out.

We lost because childish 100%ers think anything that does not grant their own petulant emotional whimsy is bad, anything that validates the emotional hysteric political feelings is automatically good.

In short we lost because Conservatives have become so PR stupid they now serve as the Democrats Propaganda machines Echo chamber on every issue.

Do us a favor 100%ers. Go join the Dems and do TO them what you spent the last two years doing FOR them.

These liberals NEVER EVER wanted Saddam removed!!!! The facts of what is now are irrelevant, Saddam and his oil were the keys to the EURO economy of which liberals bow down to daily, with the 'new' Russian empire.

Rummy was the most hated man in WDC prior to 9/11/01 cause he came to town to modernize the military with the "bottom up review". There were RINOS all over Congress who wanted his head as much as all the liberals cause their constituents were squealing about modernization was hitting them in their pocketbooks.

9/11/01 removed from the public the unadulterated hatred held for what Rummy was to be doing, and his "Old Europe" comment hit home for a number of American players whose fortune and future were to be built upon the Clintons formation of globalism.

It was McCain and his pet William Kristol that spent the majority of 2004 before the presidential election beating the off with Rummy's head drums.

Now you can point your finger at the "childish 100%ers" as cause of this loss but simply not the case, nobody within the Republican Party told McCain to sit down and shut up and stop playing politics with this nation's national security.

This mess can be laid in large part at the feet of that want-a-be president. I will NEVER EVER vote for him.

There is no need to fix Iraq. It was never broke.

Although I agree wholeheartedly, I also believe The Bush Admin. never correctly articulated the parameters around their "we must win" goal.

Yes, we said Iraq must be strong enough to handle its own security, but that in itself is a nebuous concept, at best.

Thus, the GOP base was demoralized. I know I was.

Ironically, I believe this election will spur the Iraqi's to get their act together faster, and stop relying on the blood of US soldiers to keep their security.

Most voters, GOP included, just could not wrap their brains around the policy whereby fabulous young American soldiers were dying in Iraq due to a violent disagreement between two sects of Muslim hysteria.

The Iraq govt. must now get tough on the insurgent terrorist. If that means wiping out a few villages, then so be it.

But they must stop relying on the US soldiers to be the 'bad guys' in this mix, because all that does is turn US soldiers into targets on both sides of the Iraqi-Muslim spectrum.

Amen to your post.

I wish these people would read some history.

If you want to destroy your Party as the Majority Party, just attack your President from the Right when he gets elected.

We will go the way of the Federalists and Whigs very quickly.

So quit writing all these useless lectures and vanities...

Please. Now is not the time for bickering.

Rather, it is time for thoughful analysis.

Which is exactly what this post by NathanBedford is.

And as a 100-percent supporter of the Iraq war, and of President Bush, I thought the post had some brilliant points, many of which seem spot on if the GOP wants to re-energize itself these next two years.

But please, stop throwing vicious words.

No "one" segment of FR is to blame for Tuesday's thumpin' of the GOP.

Last night I spoke to our local Christian Coalition leader, and she relayed to me how a large percentage of her members were totally demoralized over Republican incompetance and arrogance, and they simply opted to sit out this election.

These people make up about 5-10 percent of the GOP base, and that's how much many Republican candidates lost by on Tuesday.

And these people never even heard of FreeREPUBLIC.

Well, they heard of it, but they are not posters.

I respectfully disagree. The major problem is that there were never measurable goals coming from the White House about how we would know we had won in Iraq. The goals actually articulated played into the hands of the Neo-communists by being vague and readily subject to reinterpretation. Clearly defining our objectives is the first part of a victory strategy (I view Exit strategy as defeatist), the second part is a clear assessment of our enemies, if you know who and what the opposition is this will greatly inform strategies and tactics.

Thus without a clear goal after the fall of the Baathist regime, there was no plan for what to do afterwards.

Jonnie, we just had an election that decided all that and the outcome is not my fault.

It is over except the cosmetics. I wish it were otherwise.
