I'll cover MTP today. I just have to hear what Russert has to say.

Last night, Russert opted that ...“given Rumsfeld's removal... doesn't this admit that Iraq is a failure?”

Thanks!

The DBM does have one soft spot. It is their belief that they follow "journalistic ethics". They actually believe they're fair and balanced. They're quite arrogantly proud that they have "standards". It's part of their "save-the-world/liberal" worldview.

That is why it's so important to document them when they lie, distort, tell half the story, etc, and to point out when they're not covering an important story at all. We need to be there, with our evidence at hand, accusing them of unethical, unjournalistic behavior. It bugs them. If we go up against them by name, we just might bring them to heel.

But I believe we have to do this, one person at a time, one newspaper at a time, one channel, one broadcast, one editor. When we simply say the media is biased, they tsk tsk it away with their own so-called proof and statistics. They're quite good at distortion and changing the story. But if we have actual evidence, especially word-for-word, it becomes much, much harder to weasel out of the charge. And if we accuse them of journalistically unethical behavior (unethical cuts them to the quick), they might just think twice before they try again, especially if they know they're going to be called on it.
