Plus they didn't beat us we beat ourselves. If we lose again in 08 we deserve it.

It's a losing battle to convince an ever larger group of coddled beneficiaries of the cradle-to-grave welfare state that they really want freedom. They do not. The want the benefits of freedom, but wihout the costs. (The military, virtue, enterprise, failure are some of the costs they don't want to pay for.)

I think this is the tipping point in the sense that the Dem permanant majority starts here. With enough give aways (including citizenship to millions of illegals - who have earned it by convincing their co-racialists to vote stratight party Dem by 70% margins) the electorate can be bought.

We had a shot to change things and show our ideas worked, but mostly we pissed it away on periferal things, which I would include the War in Iraq as the poster child for. Imagine if the Bush Republicans had but that focus into reforming our government and undoing FDRism Instead they showed they are just as comfortable running and growing govt. as the Donkeys.

Better to let the "Big Governnment" party run the big government?
