You can't say that our party leadership didn't have sufficient warning. Arrogance has a way of getting in the way of listening or understanding when people are saying things that you don't want to hear. We lost the election because the people who were in a position to change policy refused to believe that they weren't as smart as they thought they were. I hope we learn to listen before 2008.

The main problem is there are all those Alpha males and sudo-alpha males. The egos are way too large.

Amidst the cry of the Democrats for an elimination of "tax cuts for the rich" the Republicans did something totally bizarre ~ they eliminated the deduction for tuition, books and fees.
Sure a lot of "rich people" hurt with that one eh?
I would imagine the Democrats will put it back in. At the same time they're not going to hurt Bill Gates or Warren Buffet either.

The party should listen to the base more than they do to the imbeciles in the MSM. A lot of FReepers (myself included) called general outcome of this election weeks and months before last Tuesday.

Yes, like the overwhelming MAJORITY cry and mandate of the American people to close our borders and get control of the illegal Mexicans in this country. Just ONE example of many.

Few election results were less surprising than last Tuesdays. Seemed to take Jorge Boosh and Karl Rove by surprise. When interviewed, both admitted they were completely blindsided by the outcome.
...which only shows how out-of-touch they are.
