"Rudy will destroy the party at the roots;"

That sure sounds like "fear" to me....

That "conservative case" was posted on FR and torn apart.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1694659/posts

This election desperate Republicans risked alienating their conservative voters and asked Rudy to campaign for them.
It turned out to be a bad choice.

It's too early to write anyone off, but Rudy has yet to present a strong repudiation of his liberal views.
Unless and until he can he's a sure loser.

If McCain and Rudy are the best the Republicans can come up with, we are in trouble.

Reality, my friend.

Do you not listen to the James Dobsons and Family Institute Leaders giving fair warning? Who does the grassroots work, big business or National Right-to-Life and the NRA? You think the Log cabin Republicans and Christie Todd Whitman type are going to knock on doors in the final 72 hours?

Fear moves you left, not right.

I won't share in your fear.

And conservatism did just fine without people willing to sell-out their principles for power and nominate the most liberal republican out there. This isn't even 1996, it's worse. In 1996 Bob Dole was the moderate, the in-between to Pat Buchanan and someone else who I can't remember.

This is exactly the kind of junk that the conservative movement needs to see less of. And I remain confident that on January 20, 2009, it won't be RINO Rudy being sworn in.

And the real fact-defying people are the ones who believe Giulani is anything other than New York City liberal on everything other than the war on terror. And the real paranoid crowd are the ones who still think the "evil Pat Buchanan wing" cost the republicans the 2006 election.

I think that if Guliani gets the nomination, then we will have learned nothing from the past election. I myself think it is a bad idea.

While I disagree with the Buchanan part of the quote, point taken.

I have never, in all of my years of volunteering at campaigns, seen gun control republicans working phone banks, or Pro-Choice republicans taking days off from work to walk precincts. I have never seen a one. Closest thing are some Libertarian types who stop in once in a while to get a sign for their yard.

There needs to be a Rudy reality check sometime. If the grassroots, cultural right won't be there to do the hard work, who will?

Relying on the media to get the GOP vote out will be a very bad plan in 2008 - with all three Houses within grasp for the Democrats.

Frankly, I don't give a damn who is "fine by you."

You're part of the problem.

As you can see, Rudy is the one candidate who will bring the GOP in line and win the Presidency.

Or perhaps you can see that's not true by now. Are you really counting on winning over Liberals?

Really?

Bad game plan, dude.

Are you of the opinion that it doesn't matter?

You live in a cave with those Rudy posters up?
