PEORIA - Former U.S. Rep. Bob Michel, the longest-serving minority leader in the nation's history, said Wednesday that Republicans in Congress will "rue the day" they shut Democrats out of the lawmaking process during the past 12 years of GOP control in the House.

Yes, the democrats were so much more inclusive and accommodating to the republicans during the 40 years or so that they had control of the House, weren't they. Give me a break.

I remember this RINO.

Back in the days when we had a 100 seat deficit and the order of the day was to BOHICA for the Dems.

BOHICA = Bend over, here it comes again.

This is Exhibit A to why Michel needed to be ousted 12 years ago.

And of course this didn't include the 40 years prior to 1994 when Republicans were shut out of the process that almost turned this country into a giant welfare state.

Shut up Michel, you puke. You were part of the problem, NEVER part of the answer and that is why your ass was bounced.

Now eff you, and go away and enjoy your generous retirement package.

Actually - I remember quite a few articles of the republicans treating the dems much better than the dems were in power and how they treated the republicans...

Because of Bob's catering to the Dems the process of beating them was made exceptionally harder. Bob should do like old soldiers...

I hope the Dems -- especially the retired, senile ones -- just keep jabbering away in their typical over-the-top manner. Thanks to the election results, the sheeple are finally getting at least a glimmer of how incredibly goofy, venal and childish these people are.

...the longest-serving minority leader in the nation's history...

There's a reason for that, and you think he would have figured it out by now.

What a pile of baloney. They voted for the War. They helped the GOP push thru all the pork. They helped the moderate GOPers block immigration reform. They joined with McCrazy in pushing thru campaign finance reform. What did the GOP do that they did not participate in?
