He will use this threat to get what he wants and they will give it to him. There will be no switch.

He will use this threat to get what he wants and they will give it to him. There will be no switch. Exactly. He will use this juice to get what he wants and he does not want to switch to the Republican party. He has already said so.

He was re-elected to the Senate by his dem base. NO WAY will he switch.
However, he also realizes the DNC didn't support him in the primary as they should have and he's mad as hell at all of 'em. And he should be!!! He's now an independent and can pretty much do what he wants to...LOL

Bingo! We have a winner!
I guess I'd like to see him get Armed Services. Probably pretty unlikely.

From which party? He'll receive offers from both parties and go with whichever one suits him best.
He should remember that Chafee received much better treatment from the GOP than he received from the dems.

Ditto what Bahbah said. He has to show the proverbial "stick" from time to time, it appears, to make Harry jump. But unless Harry does something VERY foolish by sc**wing Joe, Joe won't switch.
Still, look for Joe to vote for (cloture on) some Bush judicial nominees, as he had done before.

Agreed. He simply wants to shove this election in their faces before he votes WITH them on everything but the war.
