To be truthful, the Christians I surround myself are of like mind. We understand that you MUST vote for the lesser of 2 evils sometimes. We even campaign for them.

Not being a Christian, I think you are full of dung...

A lesser evil is still evil... You suggest Jews and Christians make a deal with Beelzebub?

Limbaugh said it best: 'When the good compromises with the evil, the good always loses.'

And that is exactly what happened last week...

Rudy bump! He is also for strict constitutionalist for judges so that takes care of social issues. Social issues belong in the states not at the federal level. In fact, they belong in my community period!

Had my fill of social conservatives in our OK House when they debated where books should be in the library and our rural fire fighters were waiting for funds and equipment to fight fires that were all over the State. Our fire fighters were sitting in the gallery waiting all day for a vote but it was more important where to put gay books in the library. That should be a local issue not something the State Legislature gets involved with.

Before anyone gets on their high horse, I am pro-life but I believe abortion belongs at the state level not the federal level and I want a law and order President, one for closed borders, one who wants a strong defense and will stand up to the terrorists, is for less taxes, smaller government, and that person is Rudy. I am a fiscal conservative who votes every time and never threaten to stay home and not vote unlike the social conservatives that forgot that Ronald Reagan said if you agree with someone 80% of the time then he is okay.

RUDY HAD CANCER - That is the reason he dropped out. He could not get treatment and run a decent campaign.

Rudy doesn't need to and didn't want to run for Senator of NY. Where the heck would that get him?

YOU CONTRADICT YOURSELF...

Why can't the "wingers" pry open their closed minds and work towards a common goal by a wide variety of means?

Amen.

Because they are the my way or no way crowd and love to say they are not voting is someone they don't agree with 100% of the time gets the nomination. I have had it with their not voting threats or going to 3rd party which I am seeing now.

I am a died in the wool Republican who wants the best candidate we can get to wipe out the Dem and I don't want to be sitting on election night wondering if we are going to get New Mexico or Iowa. I want a winner not someone to do social engineering.

Why didn't Rudy run for governor or senate?

Rudy will be 64 in 2008. That's why he's running for President. He's too old to be Governor or Senator.

When I go to the polls and I only have a choice between two candidates that have an actual chance of winning, I pick the one who BEST lines up with my viewpoint. I have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my 20+ years of voting, but I have voted for a Republican that I was less than enthused about. That is what I ment by lesser of two evils.

And I have NEVER sat out an election.

I CHALLENGE all FReepers to come up with a consensus candidate

Well I like this idea but I got to do some serious thinking.

Oncit upon a time I was impressed by George Allen but that campaign of his was such a loser and the more I saw of the man the stupider I thought he was. With apologies to George Allen fans across the country.

I really, really like Newt Gingrich but from what I've read he's a hot potato. I like him most because he's a very good talker and of late I've been so frustrated with Dubya and his lack of communication skills.

So...let's see...who else?

Hmmmmm, definitely not McPain, definitely not. This man is reknown for his hot temper and has no business being President. Not to mention his constant betrayals to the Republican party. The Dems might like him but I can't stand the guy.

I kinda like Romney but don't know much about him. Just being from the liberal Massachusetts turns me off a bit.

Okay, so I'm out of options. Any suggestions?

I voted for Bush, Volunteered for Bush, and Donated money for Bush, and I am a little pissed that his first response after our "Thumping" on election night from tony snow was that (in so many words) "Oh Boy now we can move forward with our Amnesty Plan!".

Same here since 1994 and I share your sentiments. I am still disgusted!

ROTFLMAO!!!

Giuliani is just another big government liberal who happended to be videotaped while walking around the WTC area with some dust on his face. I guess that is enough to make him a "great leader" and a "hero" for the air-head crowd (aka perpetually undecided voters, aka moderates, aka centrists).

A few people have mentioned Duncan Hunter, can't remember what he is - a Congressman? From what little I read, he sounded interesting.

Rudy support Scalia for Chief Justice and has said over and over again that he supports strict constitutionalist as judges that rule on the law not make the law!
