Anybody read, or watch Starship Troopers? In that book one could not be a citizen without serving. We need to move towards that system here. Unless somebody is an E-4 etc.. then they must serve. Mandatory military service is what this country needs.
Great book! I particulary enjoyed the teacher's putdown of the female student who said violence never solved anything.
