Well my grandson-in-law was recently severely injured in Iraq, will be a year recovering.

He stated before getting injured that they were fighting a war with their hands tied. He thought the war was worth fighting, but was not being fought the right way.

To repeat again and put as simply as possible, their hands are tied. They cannot shoot here, may be prosecuted for killing there, cannot go here or there, it is ridiculous.

It is more than ridiculous, it is shameful and borderline criminal. If you accept the assumption that the civilian CinC has allowed the senior military leadership to prosecute the tactical aspects of this war unfettered, then you must accept the premise laid out in this article that the generals are purposely giving the circus away for free.

What kind of person willingly sacrifices the lives of our young citizens through Political Cowardice (I refuse to use "correctness") in order to advance their personal agenda? Doesn't this make the senior military leadership guilty of all the transgressions so hysterically leveled at the Bush administration for the last four years?

Your grandson-in-law shall remain in our prayers for a speedy and successful recovery. Thank him for his selfless service, also. Recognize that he embodies that which is best in all of our citizens who wear the uniform and serve.

I understand your Grandson's feelings on the way we are forced to fight the war. I was in Fallujah before the battle for the city as a member of 4th MEG. I can think of at least four instances where we were receiving fire and order not to fire back. Scary, huh? Anyway out of our six humvees the Lt. was the only one to receive a CAR, and he was back at the compound for all of the engagements!
