But in the past Golden Age of Free Market, when all schools or teachers were private, most parents were not able to afford school for their children and majority of children did not get any education.

The fundamental fallacy of such arguments is that the world was far less wealthy (both in toto and per capita) in past centuries than it is today -- even rich people lived miserably in many ways. NO social or economic system can deliver goods that simply don't exist.

A couple of compelling Social Security articles appeared recently, calling on the Democrats to finally step forward with answers on how to fix the program's finances. One by Jay Ambrose and one by the editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
