I've heard from a couple of different Hill sources that Murtha is ahead; that newly elected Democrats favor Hoyer by a 2:1 margin, but that Murtha is ahead by about 25 votes overall, which has come about from the standing members after Nancy Pelosi's letter. The vote is Thursday.
Good and he will help prove the corruption of the dems.
Excellent news. I hope they trot him out all over television often.
That should stoke the growing firestorm.
"The beginning of the end for the Dems fleeting majority."
Amazing isn't it? In every victory, there is strewn the seeds of future defeat.
We should certainly trot out this video often.
Talk about Culture of Corruption:

America is in for a couple of really interesting years!
But if it never gets investigated or reported by the MSM, did it really happen?
You gotta wonder about these parties and their idiotic senority systems. I hope Hastings gets the call at intelligence.....this Democratic majority is begining to look like a giant pinata.
This flies in the face of another story about the new conservatives in congress wanting/supporting Hoyer. This portends to the future that Pelosi will, indeed, whip those so-called conservatives into the liberal line.
We may score good political points from it, but the damage to our nation is just too much. Intelligence Chairman hears our nation's most closely guarded secrets. Pelosi is mad at Harman because she wouldn't leak the secrets to the press.
This blog says the new Dem reps are favoring Hoyer 2-1.
I hope the financial dirt starting to leak on "The Madam" holds off till January when she officially takes charge. That way we may be able to watch a Speaker AND a Majority Leader be forced to step down together.
Perfect!!
"I hope Hastings gets the call at intelligence..."
Thanks, zarf.
As if I were not troubled enough about all this. Hastings' appointment would make me dig up my hoard and bolt.
Actually, it confirms the story you're referring to...

I'm curious - what firestorm?
Watching that video, you see the real Murtha (as if the one he shows the world isn't bad enough), the brutish, greedy thug.
If Bush wanted to stand up to the DemoRats (yeah, like that'd happen!) he'd order the Intelligence Services to deny Hastings all classifed materials on the basis that he's a known security risk who accepted bribes. Then let the Rats either knuckle under or defend Hastings.
Exactly, and the scary thing is 6 out of 10 voters in the 12th district didn't care.
Should have listened to Sean Hannity today.
a portion of his corruption will be on Hannitys show this evening. Boy does he sound like a dirtball slime shakedown artist.
The irony of Murtha becoming House Majority Leader could only be surpassed if it were revealed that John Wayne Gacy had been a Scoutmaster.
Pretty debilitating realization.
Did you hear Rangel dance around this on Hannity's Radio Show?
Thanks I read it incorrectly. So the new conservatives want Hoyer and the old timers want Murtha?
:-(
Best news I've heard since last Tuesday. With Dingy Harry ensconced at the top of the Senate the Democrats could not have done more to turn their own proclomations about corruption into a big political mallet for the GOP to beat them upside the head.
Go Murtha!
Makes Hastert look svelte, eh?
Okinawa here we come
Ping.. it doesn't get better.
John " I am not a crook...at this time " Murtha.
Yep. There may not be enough popcorn in the world to get us through the next couple of years!
I'm thrilled!

'Stuck on Stupid' DemocRATs
Murtha skated on that. It's too bad he didn't take the bribe and arrested.
Turn Baby Turn!
Demo Inferno!

Ashcroft might have done something. Gonzales is a wimp.
Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for America, the guy is wrong.
I'm thinking Hoyer by 13 votes.

Well, it is on an ABC news blog. Enemedia can't ignore everything...
I read this item about Abramoff. It seems that the MSM can't make up its mind if he has dirt on BUSH/ROVE or 6-8 corrupt US Senators. There is also conflicting reports about where he will be incarcerated for continuing questioning in the short term, Florida or a closet in DC. I don't think we can count on much from Abramoff in the short term except trying to get special treatment from the Justice Department. He is apparently very good at that. Ask any US Congressman and Senator.

Agree, especially when one considers Rockefeller (how's the investigation on his leaking going??) is now the Chair of the Senate Intel Committe

If they have anything on him regarding leak investigations or his prewar visit to Syria, it will hit the fan AFTER he has been installed as chairman.
LOL! I was thinking the same thing about AC and Rocky!

Isn't it amazing how the MSM is all over the Pubbies BEFORE the election, but now the WAcomPOST (all macaca all the time) is now 'suddenly' realizing that Murtha has *issues* in is background. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, they say about Rocky, and others when and if the truth comes out; and, what their fellow congresscritters do.
