We suck "We" don't suck. The party sucks. We have to take the party back, just as the Netroots did with the DNC.

Yes, but who is the party's #1? If it's Mitch McConnell, all right.
To: Parmenio
Why? Lott will be # 2 among the Senate Republicans, not the leader of the GOP in the Senate.

Good Trent is a good guy. Being Majority whip is a tough job and I think he will be good at it.

So we get Mr. "I don't want to hear from porkbusters" Lott. This is most unfortunate. If we get the same in the House, I won't have a party at all.

Of course not. Those racism allegations were ridiculous. But the fact remains, Lott is a pussy and shouldn't be selected for positions of power.
To: jmc1969
Senate Republicans finally understand that they can still get their paychecks and perks, without the burden and responsibility that comes with the majority.
Get ready for another decade in the wilderness. Trent has scores to settle, so he is getting ready to bend over and "compromise" on your behalf.
Hey, maybe if we are lucky, he will whip out that stupid hat again? I just hope to get a cigarette and a kiss after what Trent is going to do to us.

Betcha Collins and Snowe voted for him.
And guess what? When it comes time to make TV appearances, the networks will invite Lott instead of McConnell. As God is my witness, you know I am right.
And then they will bring up that racism charge all over again.

We have to take the party back, just as the Netroots did with the DNC.The netroots didn't take back jack. The Dem leadership is just as corrupt and concerned with their own power and perks as ours is.

This is fine, he shouldn't have stepped aside the first time. I agree.
The dems are somewhat selective at who they go after with a fury and a vengence. Usually, highest on their hit list are those they fear: Newt, Tom Delay, Trent Lott.
After the charges are dropped against Delay, I would relish the thought of his leading a comeback in '08.
