I don't think McCain will be able to overcome this problem. To the republican base, he put himself before, what is most sacred, the constitution.

And to have him explaining on the cable news election eve coverage the republican recipe for victory that was never implemented was infuriating.

I would like to know which GOP primary McCain has ever won outside of Arizona? You show me a primary where only Republicans can vote and I'll show you another state which will be labeled as 'ultra-conservative' by the media when it denies them the McCain Ascendency.

I read that too fast and didn't see the "don't" at first and was about to type a polite reply on why I disagreed. Good thing I double checked.

If McCain isn't toast yet, he should be. He could care less about the Constitution. McCain/Feingold is unconstitutional, the SCOTUS opinion is incorrect and needs to be overturned. McCain said on Imus that he cares more about clean government than free speech, and as a result we get neither.
