even the shows I care about take a dump into PC land once they become a secure hit.

Battlestar Galactica is on an anti-america subtext writing rant (writers own admissions) and it is just unwatchable at points. Endless self indulgent whining to the point you wish the bad guys WOULD just win. Unbelievable character reactions.

An occasional turkey episode ok, but an occasional good episode is not ok. It is as if every good pilot becomes a bait and switch to stuff in PC these days.

I be it a show simply certified it was not written produced or in any way shape or form controlled by hollyweird or suits in NY, you would have a hit on your hands.

What I really liked about DS9, was not only the resolution of the Borg conflict, but the triumph of humanity over logic and reason within 7 of 9's (Annika?) character.

That was actually Voyager. With the exception of a flashback in the pilot, the Borg never appeared on DS9. I never got into Andromeda either.

I bought two seasons and didn't really enjoy either. The ship was gorgeous, though--in it's Lexa Doig form, anyway. ;)
