Does this mean that Hawkeye and the gang can finally come home?

But seriously the North Korean people actually believe they are still in a state of armed conflict with us. They believe that their poverty and hardship is a result of sacrifice for "The war effort."

"...China will continue to be North Korea's ally and work with North Korea against South Korea if we pull out. That's my take, anyway..."

I don't think so, and here's why - in the last 10-15 years, China has emulated the success of South Korea and Japan by getting involved in consumer goods production, for both domestic and foreign consumption. They have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, and now, have created their own domestic consumer base that is demanding more and more of the same, every passing year!

I think this came about after the lease on Hong Kong expired in 1999, and Great Britain returned control of the colony back to China.

China then had an excellent working model of Capitalism within their own borders, and ran with it! And boy-oh-boy, they learned from it well. China is now running short of workers talented enough to keep their economy growing. Hard to imagine, but true.

Now, North Korea! NK is still stuck in the old and obsolete Stalinist mode, and during the Korean War, Mousey Tung was running China the same way. But China has changed into a Capitalistic Nation while NK remained stagnant. NK is Chinas' bastard step-child, and nukes in the hands of nutbar Kim on Chinas border can't be allowed by China. At last look, China had stopped all oil supplies to NK!

The fly in everybodies ointment is that Seoul is within cannon range of NK, and Kimmy's got a million men under arms.

China has to abandon NK without losing too much face. How they do it is up to them. Looks like they're gonna starve 'em out, and that bodes trouble. Stay well armed and safe. The enemy is islam, after all is said and done............FRegards

Or you can look at it this way. China is still a slave labor state, earning hard currency while destroying the fabric of the American manufacturing community.

In the process they are building up a war machine with the goal of taking over Taiwan? A million soldiers cannot do squat there because you will never get them there.

IMHO I belive China is gearing up for the mideast crisis and not on our side.

China seems to enjoy allowing NK to tick us off. China has nothing to fear from NK's nukes as it doesn't care about a few of them wiping out some of their cities (worst case) because they could simply retaliate and wipe out NK. China doesn't have our humanistic baggage and is freer than we are.
