If the Left keeps this up, they will drive the USA to a policy of "take no prisoners." Then the Left will argue disproportionality.

Janet Reno's so concerned about terrorists.

She didn't give a damn about the children she burned to death in Waco.

Go figure.

""The existing criminal justice system is more than up to the task of prosecuting and bringing to justice those who plan or attempt terrorist acts within the United States _ without sacrificing any of the rights and protections that have been the hallmarks of the American legal system for more than 200 years," the attorneys wrote."

What they write is true per se, but designed to mislead average civilians into thinking that they are referring to our civilian criminal justice system instead of the entire military, civilian, criminal and civil justice systems.

Military courts/tribunals were used in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, War Between the States, during and after World War Two, as well as in the current War on Terror.

Frankly, we are being generous by allowing even military tribunals. International Law says that non-uniformed combatants may legally be shot on sight. Not captured unless capture is desired. Not given trials. Not given attorneys.

In their quest to attack all things GOP/Conservative (and deliberately hinder our war effort), the Left would order attorneys for every POW...something that even Europe doesn't do.

"Former Attorney General Janet Reno...arguing that the Bush administration is setting a dangerous precedent..."

WACO was a bad precedent.

Sending Elian Gonzalez back to "monster island" was a bad precedent and

Kicking in his relative's doors (american citizens) w/ armed fed. agents was a bad precedent.
