Senate OKs bills to stymie gay benefits
Juneau Empire ^ | November 20, 2006 | PAT FORGEY

Members of the state Senate on Sunday followed through on what their counterparts in the House of Representatives did last week, continuing to advance two bills to fight employment benefits for partners of gay state employees. Facing a Jan. 1 deadline imposed by the Alaska Supreme Court to ensure employees in same-sex relationships get the same benefits as their heterosexual colleagues, the Senate Finance Committee approved on Sunday evening two bills aimed at thwarting that.

The Senate was meeting in a special session called by Gov. Frank Murkowski to deal with the controversial issue. The House already has approved the bills and adjourned.

THIS IS HUGH!!

Fat Frank's intentions are not honorable. I don't know what he wants in this case, but he is a lame duck Bridge To Nowhere ex-US Senator and as the AK gov he's trying to force the legislature to come up with something in a special session (the legislature should be adjourned).

The legislature did NOT ROLL OVER and give same-sex benefits as the Alaska Supreme Court decreed!!!

\ I'M LOVIN' THIS!!!!!

Our Senate? As in House of Representatives and Senate, like in Congress? US government people? I must be dreaming.

No, it's in Alaska, but for a state legisltature to tell a homo-imposed state supreme court wording to go eff themselves is big.

Most state governments and the U.S. Congress are deliberately blind to the fact that same sex "unions" and "marriages" are about gay sex, which is the root cause of a disease called AIDS. They are willing to spend billions of taxpayers' money to "fight" AIDS, but they are gutless when it comes to talking about the cause of AIDS. So in effect, most State governments and the U.S. Congress are encouraging the spread of disease by giving aid and comfort to sodomites (including some who actually hold elected offices).

So if it was just lesbian civil unions, it would be ok?

This is a good thing. We need to reduce the number of recipients of taxpayer-funded free stuff, not increase that number. Adding "gay" partners would increase that number significantly. And it would be easy to claim partnership where none exists solely to gain benefits.

Actually the huge majority of AIDS cases in the world are contracted heterosexually.

The ignorance and bigotry that these threads bring out is just astounding.

I think your question went right over his tiny head.

The fact is lesbians are statistically one of the least likely groups to contract AIDS.
Lesbians are less at risk than heterosexuals. Which isn't saying much, but just goes to show how lacking in intelligence some of these gay haters are.

"gay sex, which is the root cause of a disease called AIDS"

In other words, if gays never existed, neither would AIDS.
Look up the word "root", as in "root cause". Gays have passed along AIDS to heterosexuals via needles, blood, and by the AIDS-infected having sex with heterosexuals. The worst case is when a baby is born with AIDS. Gay sex is the cause of a worldwide disease costing millions of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S. taxpayers' money.
What is astounding is the number of people who seem to think AIDS isn't caused by homosexuals.

You don't know this. Nobody knows this.

And it doesn't matter anyway.

Since AIDS supposedly originated in Africa, therefore in your mind we can conclude that "if Africans never existed, neither would AIDS."?

Gay sex is the cause of a worldwide disease costing millions of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S. taxpayers' money.

You need to educate yourself before you talk about this disease.

The fact is heterosexual sex is a far larger cause of AIDS worldwide than gay sex has ever been.

Why don't you study up on this topic and then get back to us?

Good points, but AIDS is only a tiny fraction of the ailments/diseases/medical emergencies caused by same sex attraction disorder. Most are pretty gross, so mentioning them would not be prudent.

Your sneakiness is glaring. Care to site statistics for the United States?

How about the U.S., I remember hearing that by this time millions of heterosexual Americans would be dying each year from AIDS.

What are the chances of a heterosexual man getting AIDS from unprotected sex with a woman, I'll tell you-microscopic.

The same kind of lies and scare tacticts used with global warming.
