--First Daughter Barbara Bush had her purse and cell phone stolen as she had dinner in a restaurant in Buenos Aires, Argentina, even though she was being guarded by a detail of Secret Service agents, according to law enforcement reports made available to ABC News.--

Those guys are sharp. I was dining with some friends in Mexico and they got the purse of one of them and she was a resident of Mexico City. Those guys have the waiter paid off along with the bus boys and they all work as a team.

Don't forget the Secret Service man who broke up a gang fight Saturday in Annapolis -- he was shot in the process.

And didn't another SS type get involved in a PS3 altercation?

In response to your question, this is on the net, but whether true or not is questionable.

Bush buys land in Northern Parguay

Snip: Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia.

It is one reason why they will never make a first world country. That and their holiday break of two months coming up in about 5 weeks.

I cannot believe that there are so many ignorant, cruel, and just plain stupid people in this world, and they're all at DU! It's depressing to read their comments on ANY subject. I just shake my head at what losers they are. It's sad.

What in the heck is going on?!?!? "

You forgot about the problem with Air Force One.
Has Hastings already made a difference?

I never had any trouble in Argentina with thieves either. In fact, I have never had any trouble in ANY Latin American country - Ecuador, Argy, Panama, Venezuela, Mexico. OK, I got kidnapped in Mexico.

But that was 1986!

Not good, and the president's daughters shouldn't even be in countries like this except under very tight circumstances. It's a national security issue. If they're kidnapped, it's everyone's problem.

Google found a link - in just a few seconds ... It was to a copy on BuildAnArk.net, stating that the original came from FrugalSquirrels.com, which is consistent with mentions of posting to "Frugal" in the article.
From BuildAnArk.net - Survival Stories:
Editors Note: The following are excerpts of various articles written by an individual living and surviving in a current real SHTF (Sh*t Hitting The Fan) situation. Few Americans know about the collapse of the Argentinean economy back in 2001, or their ongoing struggles and continued slide down the ladder of prosperity. FerFAL (a pseudonym) has been graciously sharing his everyday struggles to survive on the Preparedness/Patriot website www.frugalsquirrels.com. Only minor editing has been done for the purpose of clarity and readability. What you are reading is essentially (99%) his words, and FerFAL's words speak volumes. Everyone should read this and his other entries to get clear insight into what we could and will be dealing with WHEN the SHTF. There are tons of insights and information to be gleaned from this man. Read and heed folks — READ AND HEED!!

Thanks FerFAL!

Some SS guys are likely going to find themselves working in Montana by month end.

Actually- I can think of a worse detail than that.

It's in New York. (((shudder)))

How about some of the posts linked to the article?? Outside the one fake id incident and some apparent moaning and sulking incidents on the part of Jenna, they've kept a low profile, and neither strikes me as being Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton.
