I generally stick with Southwest, Continental, and Airtran, but I'll keep US Airways in mind.
Doesn't mean they're backpedaling.
It's called "CYA for the Media" and that's what they are doing.
Wouldn't surprise me.
Let's hope the reason the agent was gone was because they were checking him out, and gave him the ticket so as not to cause a scene and apprehend him as he got on the plane.
I've never flown AA, because at one of the two airports I fly out of they have little presence and at the other, they have none at all. Guess I'm not missing much.
I've done it. For a weekend trip, I carried-on my small suitcase, it was less hassle than checking it. And it was one-way because I found a better price and flight time on another airline coming back. Southwest had the better price flying out and Continental the better price flying back (for the time of day I wanted the flight) so I did two one-ways, one on each airline. What disturbed me was that they didn't say a word to me on either flight with either airline...
My thinking too. The strategy is to emulate the real thing to the point they cause us to become desensitized to the cues that would occur during the real thing.
I don't fly often, but when I do I'll be sure to fly US Air.
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.

Just a thought--isn't Minneapolis the airport where "observant Muslim" cab drivers were refusing to accept passengers who carry alcohol? Yet the imans will fly on airlines that serve it???? Answer--let the cabbies drive them to Arizona!
Onward Christian soldiers, followed by Victory in Jesus, my mother's favorite. I think that she used to play it for the kids at the community center in Camden, where she was a volunteer.
So they like to travel light and keep their options open. So what? < / sarcasm >
So they have a drink or two for medicinal purposes and go to strip clubs to preach folks out of their wicked ways. What's wrong with that? < / sarcasm >
As an ex NYC cab driver I resemble that remark!!!!!
I've been waiting for one gutsy major Western or European airline to announce an implicit and effective no-Muslim policy that would somehow avoid running afoul of anti-discrimination laws. I bet their sales and share price would soar.
By the way, US Airways stock price is up 6% in the past two days:
