A quiet knock at the door interrupted my deposition with a court steno and an attorney. The private attorney got up to answer and departed, "...for a minute...."

She was gone about forty minutes—during which time the court stenographer unexpectedly told me, "That was her boyfriend. She goes out several times a day to snort coke."

Meantime, the state was being charged for the steno, my time, and her habit. :(
