JUNK SCIENCE! Either that or the author of the article works for the NYT and makes stuff up. 3.5 mil in the Hudson watershed...HAH! There's 1 mil in Albany alone! Where did they take their measurements? There's just sooooo much wrong with the science as reported in the article!
Even though it may explain some things I just can't figure out, junks science is just that....junk!

Exactly correct!!!
Experts had foraged Germany's rivers for a substance produced by the human body during cocaine consumption, and the results were bountiful.
No where in the article does it tell us what the "substance" that the body produces is and why it is a marker for coke use.

SWAG - Scientific Wild-Ass Guess. Their inputs, criteria, etc., do nothing but generate a meaningless conclusion.
My non-scientific opinion is more people do more drugs than SWAG estimates or government estimates.
