Send That Outrage to the Back of the Bus .... In praise of discrimination.

Six imams got on a plane in Minneapolis. Accounts vary, but it seems that they were speaking in Arabic before boarding of their disgust with the U.S. war in Iraq and with American policy in general. One was heard to declare that he would do whatever was necessary to fulfill his obligations under the Koran. Another repeated, “Allah, Allah.” Once aboard, they aroused suspicion by requesting seat-belt extenders that they did not appear to require and took seats not together but scattered throughout the plane.

Several people contacted the flight attendants, and the men were asked to leave.

Now comes the nonsense. The Associated Press declares that this is a case of “flying while Muslim,” and a TV anchor compares the imams to Rosa Parks. Nihad Awad of the Council on American-Islamic Relations denounced the incident as an example of “Islamophobia,” adding, “We are concerned that crew members, passengers and security personnel may have succumbed to fear and prejudice based on stereotyping of Muslims and Islam.”

The Department of Homeland Security has announced that its Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties is opening an inquiry into the incident. And talk radio is abuzz. “Would they have done the same to a group of priests?” asked one talk radio host. “Or rabbis?”

Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that the person who was overheard chanting “Allah, Allah” was actually saying something else. Let’s go ahead and allow that there was nothing suspicious about the request for seat-belt extenders, as several of the imams were a bit rotund. Let’s even agree that the six imams were “victims” of discrimination.

I fly a lot. Every week. I would have been complaining too. I look at everybody getting on the plane. There has been a flight or two that I watched some 3rd world agent for the entire flight. I'm not descrimatory in nature. I'm just paranoid.

You are not paranoid. You're smart. I also sit and watch this scum when flying. Priests and Rabbis aren't the problem here. Islam! Allah sucks!

From everything I have read it seems very apparent that these jokers were, at the very least deliberately jerking everyones chain. "Let's have some fun and scare these Kaffirs."

At worst they were deliberately "sensitizing" the airlines, and the authorities to make it easier for real bombers to pass unchallenged in the future.

Either way, US Airways did the right thing. These representatives of "The Religion of Peace" have got to be forcefully instructed that THEY, given the reality of the times that their co-religionists have created, have an obligation to reassure others, not challenge them and stretch the limits.

That said I believe their actions were intentional terrorism, deliberately instilling fear.

I have lived and worked in Islamic lands from Indonesia and Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia and the West Bank and believe me, Islam is not a religion of peace. All Kaffirs (unbelievers) are hated and despised especially the US and the west in general. This is not a post 9/11 phenomenon.

Ya gotta love this comment at the end of the article:

This is a hijacking of a great faith you say? Maybe so. I’m inclined to believe it since I do not think that a billion people would be drawn to a religion of hate.

Of course some people are drawn to this religion. In their home countries other religions are persecuted and/or outlawed and their schools teach hate against other religions. Also, it gives those who are so inclined a reason to blow stuff up. All you have to do is look at the number of kids in this country playing Mortal Combat or GTA video games to know all kids like to blow sh## up and if they are given an excuse, they'll jump on it.

Same here - I fly, on average, twice a week.

I call it vigilence, not paranoia.

To paraphrase some wise freeper's tag line from 5 years ago,

"There are 2 things I hate.
Discrimination and six imams on my plane."

I guess the seat extenders could possibly be used as a weapon, perhaps by swinging them like a chain?

I have a problem with what they were saying before boarding, If they were speaking in Arabic how could anyone understand them? They didnt sit together perhaps because the airlines assigned them seats that werent together?

I read somewhere they stood and prayed at the appointed time. That could be a little disturbing to passengers. Most Priests just bless themselves and pray quietly they dont start chanting or anything.

Perhaps it would be better if these folks just chartered a jet , then they could do anything they like on board it.

Good enough. Their language and actions scared and alarmed people on the plane. Buh bye - and next time, ride a camel.

You wrote: " If they were speaking in Arabic how could anyone understand them?" One of the individuals who communicated with the cabin attendants speaks Arabic and was concerned about what they were saying. They should all be made to leave the country.

Discrimination????

Possibly!

BUT, first, I would ask these six muslims if they are US citizens. If they are not, they should immediately expelled to their home country.

Second, if they are citizens, I would ask them if they support or oppose the jihad against the United States. If they answer support, they should be expelled to their home country immediately.

Third, I would ask them to provide a transcript of the friendly imam meeting at the Ramada Inn in Minneapolis. If they refuse, or if their was any discussion of agression toward the US during the meeting, they should be immediately expelled to their home country.

If they all six pass the test on these three questions, they should receive an apology from us.....

However, as a betting person, I doubt that they would pass.........
