"It was JFK himself"

Actually I heard a conspiracy theory like that once. JFK and Jackie faked his death because Onasis was hitting on Jackie and they wanted to let her marry him and take all his cash..or something like that.

In the British Sci-Fi comedy Red Dwarf, the characters get a time machine and go back to 1963 to see if they can get some curry in Dallas (one of the characters loves curry) They accidentally jostle Oswald as he is aiming when they materialize and he misses. Suddenly, they can't go back to their future. They realize that Kennedy has to be killed. In the alternate future, Kennedy is re-elected and found to be corrupt in 1965 and is being sent to prison. They pop into the armored car transporting him and convince him he has to be killed and convince him to dress as a cop and fire from the grassy knoll. One of the characters says to Kennedy:"This will drive the conspiracy nuts crazy for centuries."

The episode was funny even with that subject matter.

Kennedy faked his own death because he was dying of an incurable disease and wanted to be remembered as heroic and not as a vegetable.
