Mum forgives baby-in-dryer ex November 26, 2006 12:00am Article from: Font size: + - Send this article: Print Email THE mother of a toddler who was horrifically burnt when her boyfriend put the girl in a clothes dryer has forgiven her former lover, visiting him in jail and sending him letters signed with kisses. Marnie Jowett had publicly stated she would never forgive Samuel Marc Barnes-Siddall for the hurt he inflicted on her 19-month-old daughter, Mya Jade Jeffrey. But, privately, she has penned him affectionate letters. In one written on August 30, the day the 22-year-old Beldon man was sentenced, Ms Jowett said she had forgiven him and urged him to "hang on and be strong". "I want you to know I don't hate you for what you did," she wrote. "I hate what you actually did, but I don't hate you. "Hang in there. There are so many people out here that care about you and that are thinking about you, and who love you. Remember that." "Will you please do one thing for me? Promise you will hang on and be strong, will you? "Anyway I'm going to say goodnight, don't let the bed bugs bite. Try to sleep and hang in there OK, promise me. xxoo Marnie xx" Department of Corrective Services documents show Ms Jowett has also visited Barnes-Siddall at least three times since he was sentenced to eight months behind bars. Mya, then 14 months old, sustained serious burns to her back and feet on May 25, after Barnes-Siddall put her in a clothes dryer and turned it on for two minutes to give her a "dizzy wizzy".

she's just buttering him up so she can kill him when he gets out....at least that's how I would handle it. My little girl is 19 months too and I can't express what I am feeling right now.

Sounds like the therapeutic-welfare state has camped out in this woman's head.

"Hang on and be strong"? LOL.

Being a Christian, I forgive Saddam Hussein and OBL, but I don't think I'll be sending them any "letters signed with kisses".

Well I hope that they visit the mother and take the child away before this dipwad is released and the mother has him back in the house so he can stuff the kid in the oven next time.

I would consider forgiving him after he burned in hell for eternity but the answer would be NO.

If he'd remembered to set the dryer on 'Air Only' it would have been a normal 'dizzy wizzy'.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would think there would be some kind of restraining order on contact . She sounds desperate to me.

"THE mother of a toddler who was horrifically burnt..."

Sorry, but I am sick and tired of the word 'horrific"! Is it a cross of horrible and terrific? If so, is it bad (horrible) or good (terrific) or somewhere in between. I don't recall hearing before 5-7 years ago. Why not just say 'horribly' burnt to convey the situation.

Sounds like something Shep Smith would come up with!

It's a J-school word.

You wouldn't understand...

Horrific is an actual word and terrific doesn't just mean good i.e. "I've got a terrific headache."

Apparently, the word's origin goes all the way back to Latin:

Unfortunately...there really ARE people out there who are so dumb and desperate for love - that they will overlook ANYTHING.
