One more newspaper photo(San Diego Union) from days gone by - circa April 66. The Navy just opened the gates on promotions. One sixth of our enlisted crew were promoted. That's me shaking hands with the Skipper when I sewed on my 2nd Class Crow. The promotion list was published on a Friday and there was a mad rush to get new crows for the Monday ceremony. :)
