McRibski
At Nuremberg Hans Frank claimed that Hitler charged him with the task of finding out if Hitler's grandfather was really jewish. This is really not so strange, since pretty much everyone in Nazi Germany had someone in charge of finding out if they were jewish or not.
a pun. KGB is pronounced "KaGeBe" or "KeGeBe". The last sounds [eb] form the root of the ef-verb. "ebun" means "effer" in Russian, Thus, "kegebun" is a compound word [noun] with two roots [there are many such words in German and in Russian], meaning, literally, "KGB-effer". That's how we used to refer to them. Derivative adjective "kegebuchij" [with varying endings per gender, number and case] means "KGB-effing". For example, "our resident kegebun posters again pour forth their kegebuchij garbage".
Daniel Craig (Bond,James Bond) would make a great Putin. Putin has a fascinating life story to tell with his involvement with KGB.
OH OH Vlady is at again LOL!
Very interesting, thanks for the clarification.
You are welcome. It is a transliterated pun, but back in my days the kegebuns were getting it instantaneously [without transliteration], and should be getting it now, too.
Meanwhile, tell me how to pronounce the name "Gaidar". Please tell me it's not pronounced "GAY-DAR"...
I never tire of that picture! Too funny!
A shooting. A poisoning. A mystery illness. If we can get a rope & a candlestick we may have the Russian version of "Clue".
It's the Russian Flu. A lot of that going around lately.
Must be the "Russian flu".
Mr Gaidar, if that is your real name, as your physician, I must be perfectly honest: I'm afraid, it's they gai disease. Yes, still incurable.
You beat me.
Oh, easy. Just remember that these a's are pronounced like Latin a's, and not like the English ones. English "gay" is pronounced [gei]. in "Gaidar" that "gay" part has its "a" sounding like the the beginning of "our", but short and not stressed- I think the pronunciation synbol is [a:]. The second "a" in "gaidar" is the stressed, longer "a:"-like sound. And finally, the last consonant in "gaidar" is fully sounding "r". so yes, it is gai-dAr
synbol=symbol. adjacent keys typo.
Too much Guinness will do that to you.
"Pat Buchanan prbably believes Hitler was Jewish."
Rumor has it, he was.
