..Too bad. He's been a brilliant, honest, and conservative public servant. Those who fault Frist should really fault John McCain's gang of 14. McCain has undercut our president and the ability of a Republican Congress to make real progress. Frist was brilliant each time he led the Senate Campaign Committee. He extended Republican control, and he demonstrated a real gift for organizing a campaign. I regret that conservatives have turned against one of their own. We will need him in the future...

I would think that everyone would agree with you. I do. But do you honestly think he had the "right stuff" to be a president in today's world?...

I dont think he does and at the same time I don't know what that "quality" is exactly... but I'll know when I see it. I don't think McCain, Guliani or ever Rodney have that quality either. We'll see :)

Unless Bredesen runs for President (unlikely - the moonbats will never wear it) - he'll be governor in Tennessee for as long as he wants to be.

Assuming he only wants to be for four more years. TN Governors are limited to 2 consecutive 4-year terms.

He saw the handwriting on the wall. President Bush's pick for majority leader was a huge disappointment.

He is a medical first, a doctor without a spine, but I guess it fits he was in a spineless party.

Ah ha, I didn't realise he was term limited.

Well that's interesting...considering that, maybe Frist isn't a bad idea. We can assume Harold Ford will be the Democrat.

Haley Barbour?

Mark Sanford is the best out of the lot of Governors. He could legitimately claim that he would restore fiscal probity to Washington. The problem is that we have no visibility on ANY Republican governor running at the moment. No exploratory campaigns, nothing.

Regards, Ivan

Frist is at least as media-savvy as is George Bush, and he is a more dedicated conservative, imho, when one looks across the board.

I'm a constant supporter of George Bush.

I don't think either of them have the ability to speak to the people over the heads of the media.

Gingrich might have that.
