Which do you choose, Dr. Camp?
From his reply on the Lipscomb website - It seems he would rather die.
Let us not confuse Americanism with Christianity. Christianty is not American. Americanism is not wholly Christian. We are to pray for HIS [JESUS'] KINGDOM TO COME which will never come through the warring of man, but through Jesus' Glorious Appearing.
Same type of god maybe .. all three are monotheistic religions.
But Allah is a demon at best.
Hi Recall,
I'm not sure about the birth of Jesus story you mentioned, but I do know what the Koran says about Jesus and His death. The Koran states that Jesus did NOT die on the cross---in fact, He was never on the cross. "Allah" put someone on the cross who looked like Jesus. In other words, according to Islamic belief, Jesus did not die on the cross, thus he didn't rise from the dead as payment for our sins. His payment for our sins is the ABSOLUTE backbone of the Christian faith.
Pretty hard to reconcile the two views, huh? As for me, I'll stick with Jesus. The Bible says, "You shall know them by their fruits"---show me anything good that has come from Islam.
Brian
The Bible is very clear: "He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."
There is no compromise.
Heresy couched in P.C. Newspeak;
This clown a theologian? Bushwah!
Still some out there that need burning at the stake.
The author is pretty much a fool. Christianity has NEVER sought to "violently impose "Jesus is Lord" on anyone. That's the MUSLIM philosophy.
True enough. But, if someone would express that Jesus is the true Messiah, Son of the living God, the only way to salvation in a public forum such as this...what would happen (seriously, I wonder).
"Camp described himself as a 'conservative Christian'", eh? If I describe myself as a Chevrolet Silverado, does that make it true?
What a lying phony this "professor" is.
Thank you, you just said it.
And this is supposedly our purpose of life?
Was he misquoted or did he and his pals have to backtrack after catching hell over the quoted remarks?
Guess we'll never know -- but the good professor needs to be sure where he stands with the Savior.
This gets a "The west is committing suicide" ping
So do Christians: in view of their history, they have good reasons for not trusting Muslims.
I must be confused! I thought 'Christens' believed in Jesus Christ - hence the name. If we forsake Jesus as Son of God - we have no religion.
This is a theologian?
He must have been gone from school the day they learned about the resurrection.
We have such short historical (memory) spans as white Christians," he said. "There is a history of anti-Semitism, the violence and bloodshed of the crusades and cultural imperialism. We have to deal with the reality of what Christians have done, which in some cases has been to kill people."
Camp described himself as a conservative Christian but conceded his opinions may be viewed as "radical" by other evangelical Christians.
Christians must shed the idea that they need to promulgate a worldwide Christianity, he said.
When he talked about the "violence and bloodshed of the crusades and cultural imperialism," he conveniently ignored the essential history of the Crusades and what brought them about.
Mohamed (may pig shit be upon him) and his similarly bloody minded followers conquered the entire Mideast and the Judeo-Christian holy places. By the beginning of the eleventh century western Christendom had emerged far enough from the Dark Ages that it was able to mount a necessary military response to that Muslim physical, religious, and cultural imperialism. The Crusaders of the First Crusade definitely disgraced many Christian principles and perpetrated some inexcusable massacres. However, the fact remains that it and the subsequent Crusades were primarily to restore the Mideastern holy places to their rightful possessors, not even to reconvert the Muslims.
You mean --- it is the muzzies who do that? Who 'da thunk!!!
