Suspected terrorist Samir Azzouz has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment. A court in Amsterdam found him guilty of preparing terrorist attacks on politicians and on the premises of the Dutch intelligence service the AIVD. The main piece of evidence was a videotaped suicide note made by the defendant in which he explains that he has reached the point of martyrdom.

Another five suspects were tried in the so-called "Piranha" case. Three received prison sentences of up to four years and two were acquitted. The Public Prosecutor's office argued that the six defendants formed a terrorist organisation, but the judges found insufficient evidence. They also rejected claims that Samir Azzouz had recruited others for the jihad, the Holy War.

IMO, terrorism/jihad cases should be tried by military tribunal and those found guilty should face an immediate firing squad.

Better than acquittal but sentences seem light. We need to kill these people, not send them to criminal-networking camp for a few years.

I wish they would do to this guy what was done to Theo Van Gogh, or worse...

This was a stupid thing to do. Convicting one of them is only going to make the rest of them mad. He should have been released to show them that there is no ill will toward the Jihadists so they have reason to like us again.
