For Christ's sake -- literally

Like many, I celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God, my Savior this month. I know what it's about. My family knows what it's about. I want to get out of work early and set up a crche. And I sure as heck don't want to have a political debate about it.

Perhaps you're of the exact same mind. Or maybe, say, you're Jewish and Hanukah falls around the same time. They're certainly not the same thing exactly, but at heart there are some shared values. You don't mind hearing "Merry Christmas" because majority rules. And I might say "Happy Holidays" just in case, with no intention whatsoever to water down what Dec. 25 commemorates for me and my fellow Christians.

But every year now it seems we find ourselves at the ridiculous same place.

Thanksgiving passes and it's "War on Christmas" time - what an awful concept and a waste of time. But I can't blame the Fox News Channel's John Gibson for titling his book (2005, Sentinel) that.

We have all been operating under the wrong set of rules, please read the text at this site to understand why Christmas is NOT Christian.
http://www.morethanwords.net/christmas.htm

I was programmed from my youth to love the gliter and pomp of the Holiday season but only recently realized the error of this programming.

I beg you to read the text with an open mind, as difficult as I understand it will be for you to do so, as it was offensive to me at first.

humble regards,
TL

Funny that a concept that encourages peace and giving should be attacked so vociferously.

Bring on the war if they do not want Merry Christmas , lets say Happy Birthday Jesus. They want a war , they will get one. My nativity is ready to be out up , it would have been up already, but we had a high wind alert. But today is the day. Thank you My Father for loving me so much that you sent your Son to save my nasty hide.

...sound of sirens on your screen...
This is only a test of the ACLU public alert system. In the event an actual creche is detected in your neighborhood, you would be given emergency instructions..

Thanks for the ALERT. Gonna send it around to my email friends, if you don't mind.

Two of my favorites, the one a church in Arkansas used for halloween, "Hallow Him!" and the other on the Christmas season: "He (Jesus) is the Reason for All seasons."

"All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made." (John 1:3).

For me, maintaining the holiday is about honoring my Mother & Father. I have had a more difficult time doing the same with Easter.
