Here is more on Haleigh...

........................

BOSTON— House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi said Massachusetts has the nation’s third-highest rate of child abuse and neglect cases, and he pointed yesterday to the case of a severely beaten 11-year-old Westfield girl as an example of social services policies in need of reform.

DiMasi opened the testimony before the House Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect by saying, “The number of children confirmed as abused and neglected in 2005 — 35,214 children — would fill Fenway Park. Half were aged 7 and younger.”

DiMasi formed the special committee after Haleigh Poutre allegedly was beaten into a coma by her adoptive parents in 2005 after the Department of Social Services decided against taking her away from the couple despite the girl’s previous injuries.

From the Boston Globe...

"We want to make sure that tragedies don't occur," said state Representative John H. Rogers, a Norwood Democrat and chairman of a new committee that held its first hearing yesterday.

Opinions on Bush regarding Terri and related...

.............................

On Monday President Bush called members of an Anti-Abortion demonstration in Washington, DC and congratulated them on marching for a worthy cause and told the marchers "We're building a culture of life." I nearly drove off of the road when I heard this on my car radio.

Why? Not because I am pro-choice, I am not. I will freely admit to being pro-life. My reason for being disgusted is that Bush's presidency and time as governor of Texas seem to have engendered anything but a culture of life.

Snip...

Abortion: Bush's stances on abortion and stem cell research likely resonate with CST. However, the abortion rate has climbed during his presidency and no one knows how his two new Supreme Court Justices will rule on the matter.

Capital Punishment: If one wishes to include his attempts to defend "harsh questioning" and detainment without a right to a trial, Bush's promotion of human dignity within the criminal justice system seems to have had negative effects.

Euthanasia: I suppose the Schiavo Case gives Bush the rub from Jeb's actions, but I am not sure what if anything has happened on this issue at a federal level over the past six years.

The Dynamic Center: George W. Bush and a Culture of Life?

That's a new slant. Haleigh's MEDICAL TEAM was protecting the abusive step-parents? Against the wishes of DSS? I find this very hard to swallow.

Earlier, we had reason to suspect that Holli Strickland was playing the DSS like a harp in order to steal Haleigh from her mother, Allison Avrett. While Haleigh was visiting from Virginia, Holli made abuse charges against Avrett (her half-sister, I think) and her boy friend. DSS gave custody to Holli without substantiating the charges; Virginia investigators said the abuse charges were baseless. In short, the DSS helped Holli steal the child, and Holli was the real child abuser!

So, the DSS was not only irresponsible, but it threatened to seize Avrett's baby too, if she didn't sign away her rights to Haleigh. It is THAT bit of fraud that today lets the DSS keep Avrett from even seeing her daughter. In the eyes of the DSS, Avrett is not a mother any more. Also, in the eyes of the DSS, Haleigh doesn't need her mother's love. But she does -- desperately.

This person considers himself a very nicely politically correct "Christian", it appears, and reveals himself in the following. I cannot help but wonder that he supposes Our Lord responds to opinion polls on how to be popular. IMHO this guy loses it when he compares Jimmuh Carter who never met an evil person he didn't like to Ronald Reagan who was decent to the core.

I recall that in 1980 all three candidates--Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and John Anderson-- claimed to be “born-again Christians.” When all make the claim, credibility becomes the issue. No one has ever doubted the authenticity of President Carter’s religious commitment, but in 1980 the “religious vote” went to Ronald Reagan. That was unusual especially in that it must be noted that if Mr. Reagan were a “born again Christian,” that fact did not seem to require either that he attend a church with some regularity or that he support a church with regular contributions.

Snip...

I trace the beginning of the decline in popularity of the present incumbent to his attempt, supported by Senator Bill Frist and Representative Tom DeLay, to make conservative Christian end-of-life issues in the Terri Schiavo case a political cause, designed to win the support of his religious base. In a similar manner, President Bush’s use of such things as the teaching of “Intelligent Design” as an alternative to evolution and his making homosexuality a political issue, both in response to his presumed religious values and certainly to gain support from right wing religious voters, was appalling to me.

>> Massachusetts has the nation’s third-highest rate of child abuse and neglect cases

What else would one expect in liberal Massachusetts? Child abuse is strongly associated with liberal philosophy and its attendant welfare culture.

Of course the liberals will try to blame anything else they can think of.

New York, N.Y. (CNSNews.com) - While the national Republican platform is decidedly pro-life and has been for the past two decades, the GOP mayor of the nation's largest city believes his party's philosophical underpinnings are more in tune with the pro-abortion point of view.

New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said favoring the availability of abortion is "more consistent with the philosophy of the Republican Party."

Bishop Spong made a career out of this sort of drool. He's the first to join the lynch mob, and so much the better that he's helping a cheating husband murder his wife. Never mind Jesus, disabled women must be put to death! We are without sin! Stone her!

Here is news on Charlie Crist. It is blossoming nationally. Hmmmm.

...........................

Gov. Charlie Crist is declining to take a DNA test to settle a question that has nagged him for years: Did he have a one-night stand 17 years ago and father a daughter?

For months, the girl's adoptive parents have tried to reach the governor for ''some kind of closure'' on the matter. Though rebuffed by Crist, they won't ask the governor to get a DNA test.

Gov. Crist refuses paternity test; family not asking... The governor continued to face questions in a paternity dispute as the child's family came forward.

The first victim is the child. If Crist is indeed the father, he is bringing pain to his daughter with his rejection and his cheap denials ("it's nothing but politics"). Even if he is not the father, he could find a far more graceful way to say so; and, of course, he could prove it with the DNA test.

Here's another article from someone who gets it. People tend to forget that DSS tried to put Haleigh down after they knew her condition had improved. Most of the media leave out that little tidbit. Some go so far as to lie about it. But the records prove what really happened. It's nice to see someone tell the truth about it for a change.

Panel holds hearing on child abuse

The case was complicated when the Department of Social Services sought to remove Haleigh from life support after her condition had begun to improve.

Killing Your Babies 101 -- a course their mothers must have flunked. Not directly Terri material, but you would poll this crowd of baby feminists in vain looking for one vote to save Terri from her murdering husband.

>> On Thursday, the Yale Medical Students for Choice will host workshop on manual vacuum aspiration for medical students, using a papaya as a uterine model. Manual vacuum aspiration is a surgical abortion method that uses a syringe to remove the fetus from a woman’s uterus. Merritt Evans MED ’09 said she thought it was important to have the workshop because the procedure can be used for a variety of different purposes — including miscarriage management and the treatment of a failed medical abortion or ectopic pregnancy — and is inconsistently taught in medical school.

>>While the workshop is targeted towards medical students, undergraduates are also invited to attend.

I just came across this "CHRONOLOGY OF THE HOLOCAUST:
1930-1945
."

Do you notice what's missing? A major component of The Holocaust, which happened during the timeframe covered here, and paved the way for atrocities on a more massive scale, isn't even mentioned in passing.

Is this revisionist history what's typically taught to American Jews today? Have they been dumbed down and lied to about this, just like a cross section of society has been dumbed down and lied to on a variety of subjects?

That would explain part of the reason some of them happily welcome the atrocities that paved the way for the rest of The Holocaust. They don't believe those atrocities ever occurred, or if they did, they weren't atrocities at all. It wasn't wrong when (and if) it happened to other groups. It was only wrong when it happened to their group. There's nothing wrong with dehumanization, torture, and forced euthanasia; unless your own group are the victims.

Part of the lead-up to The Holocaust was the propaganda, dehumanizing certain groups. Many bought into that propaganda, though some did not. In any society, there will be a certain number of sociopathic members who cannot connect to any group but their own. Those members will have no compassion for members of another group. They will readily accept the claim that members of the other group(s) are subhuman. So it becomes acceptable to exterminate the other group(s).

Jews obviously are not the only ones who buy into this sociopathic philosophy, and not all Jews buy into it. Only the sociopathic ones, which can be found in any group. I'm baffled by that line of thinking, no matter who embraces it. But there is something especially baffling about a Jew who supports a key element of The Holocaust, and wants to see it repeated here and now. This is a mystery that I've been grappling with for some time. If I ever figure it out, then maybe I'll also understand why liberals defend the terrorists who want to kill them.
