Warm Fuzzy Wednesday Poetry


Kilroy





Kilroy is my little wind-up toy
Always out and about, my curious boy
Quick to dash off into the shadows and explore

Then come back much later with tales of heroic lore
Describing wide-eyed, wild and fantastic discoveries
As only a Kitten can detail all he feels and tastes and sees

Inside the Big Ones' Rooms and their odd and eerie treasures
Everything has the mystery of enormous size and overwhelming measures
All sorts of shoes for Our Pretty One's feet and clothes for her form

When we all know that fur is the more efficient and attractive norm!
The big, pretty flat mountain where the Big Ones nap for the night
Has become an all consuming target for my precious little one's sights

Something to be challenged and conquered without malice or fear
Though it may take several attempts before that goal is achieved
I feel my little fuzzy lump's fur and mine slowly swirl and mesh

So that he can start again tomorrow morning anxiously refreshed
Ready for adventures throughout Halls and Rooms far and near
Just to let our Humans know that "Kilroy Was Here!"
