A suburban mall suspended all visits with its Santa Claus Tuesday after learning a photographer taking pictures of children on St. Nick's lap was a registered sex offender, police said.
"Knowing that a registered sex offender was potentially working with children at the Santa Claus display we quickly wanted to check into it," ...
Yeoman was listed as a "lifetime notification" offender on the Indiana Sheriffs' Sex Offender Registry for a 1992 conviction of child molestation.
He served six years of his 10 year sentence...

Oh, my.... how many kiddies have sat on HIS lap?
Omigod... and the guy running the minilab where the Santa pix are processed once diddled his cousin! Lock your kids in the basement!
Hopefully none.
We all need to keep our eyes open ( every where ) these days.
Sad.
There have been stories pretty much like this every year for several years. Many years ago they interviewed Santa on radio at a shopping mall and said, "Well, Santa, how was your trip from the North Pole?" Santa said, "The speed was good and we are ready to face the hordes of youngsters."
Don't these guys have to avoid situations that involve children? Can't he be locked up again for this?
Hopefully, this perp will finish his ten year term in prison.
They should add another ten for this stunt.
But some liberal ACLU judge will feel his pain !
Can't he be locked up again for this?
Of course, we wouldn't want these guys to ever have to serve their entire prison terms, after all they are such model prisoners and deserve another crack at our children.
Seems the photographer was the 'registered' one. What happened? They didn't do a background check on him before he was hired. And Santa himself? Doesn't say... My guess is they'll be doing a bit more checking before they hire. But thank goodness for the registry. If you can't put them away forever then you have to track them.
And our pants closed.
What a cruddy story.
The governments hire and re-hire these perps...
Recently, another government school hired another sex perp without doing a background check.
These perps like to get jobs near the kids...like bank robbers like to rob banks.
It was the PHOTOGRAPHER, not Santa.
So, fire the guy and crank Santa's village back up again. What's the big deal?
My bad. Thank goodness.
Apparently the police wanted to be provided with background checks on all the employees...which was to take a while.
It may be back up even now ?
(No pun intended...)
I think my kids are already well on the way to Santa becomming symbolic anyway.
My daughter (6) told me a couple of days ago, Daddy, can you tell Santa not to hide his gifts in your closet this year?
Remember the Norman Rockwell painting where the kid discovers the Santa clothes ?
