Mary Cheney, the openly gay daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney and wife Lynne, is pregnant, according to a published report.
Mary Cheney, 37, and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, 45, are "ecstatic" about the baby, due in late spring, The Washington Post reported in Wednesday's editions, quoting an unnamed source close to the couple.
The vice president's other, older daughter, Elizabeth Cheney, is on leave as deputy assistant secretary of state after having her fifth child with her husband in July.
There was no formal announcement of either daughter's pregnancy from the vice president's office, but the Post quoted spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride as saying Tuesday night that "the vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild."
Mary Cheney, 37, was an aide to her father during the 2004 campaign, as was Elizabeth, and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL.
The Post quoted the source close to the family as saying the circumstances of Mary Cheney's pregnancy will remain private. She and Poe moved from Colorado to Virginia a year ago to be closer to the Cheney family.
In an interview with the Post six months ago, when asked if she and Poe wanted children, Cheney said that was a "conversation I think I should have with Heather first."
You're exaggerating, period.
I know exactly how many times I've said those things. And it's not "frequent."
"So who is the father?"
Check the dna of the turkey baster in their kitchen.
David Crosby the father?
>>>It may not be ideal, but at least Mary is in a long-term committed relationship, and the child will have strong, loving grandparents.
The child will be loved and well cared for, which is more than can be said for many other kids. I wish them the best.>>>
I agree. Here in rural Georgia, a heterocouple and Grandpa were charged with having TWO meth labs going in a CAMPER with their four children, aged 2-8 years old, on the floor asleep. Yeah, THAT was a healthy home life.
no howlin I don't think I will- You have a nice day now- you hear? And yes, I forigive you!
I certainly don't need forgiveness from the likes of you.
The very fact that you think you can give it to me is kind of scary.............LOL.
Oh, you thought I was talking about you? Didn't see your post about a father and mother, just the one about the "disordered" mother. Nor did I see how Mary Cheney's child would in any case have been brought up in a male/female family. Nor did I see any mention of the millions of one parent families, which I'm sure concern you just as well....
Some might just think that a loving family, even if not traditional is still worth supporting. I know the future grandfather seems to think so.
Our society is sick. More and more it looks like the illness may be terminal.
Well, based on a few posts I've seen here recently, you just may have hit on something!
I wish that were true, friend. Unfortunately we have our own "homegrown" nuts right here in River City. :-)
"And one thing I did learn from MY dad was to take care of my family, so I am their mother and their father now."
God has blessed you an awesome responsibility. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to raise children without my wife. Pass the lessons that your father has given you along to your sister's children without the bitterness that you feel toward their father.
They know what he is - and they know what you are. Your sister is watching over you. I'm certain she is pleased.
God bless.
>>>Now, another baby can be brought up in a sinful household and learn to shun God and live a life free from moral values
Shut up.>>>
Hehe, I like you Howlin.
LOL.
Not necessarily. It is not unheard of for a man to adopt the children of a woman he marries, children that were fathered by another man.
>>>Not all fathers had "something to do" with their children either. Ever heard of adoption?
AHEM
In adoption NEITHER parent had anything to do with the birth>>>
Some fathers come along well after the conception and even birth and end up accepting and loving the child as their own. Just because the one person isn't involved in the process doesn't mean they won't love the child. Heck, some women get sperm donars for sterile men. Do you think those men won't love their child?
I hope you're right; sometimes I wish she'd send me some kind of "sign!"
Preposterous.
Signs are tough.
I almost never get them and when I do it's like another piece of puzzle that I still have to figure out anyway. True "faith" is faith in spite of the signs.
You'll see your sister's children grow up with all the good stuff that your father passed on to the both of you. What could be more miraculous than that? Sometimes "we" are the sign.
Good luck and God bless.
