Can you imagine this taking place during WWII? Further evidence of the Oprahfication of America. Our enemies both inside and outside the country know they have a winning strategy in defeating us. Just inflict 75-100 casualities per month on our forces, which is easy to do, and we will surrender. We no longer have reason to mock the French.

The French probably learned they were going to end up surrendering anyway so why not do it early on and save the lives that would be lost by waiting! In the case of Iraq there are really four groups that have a say in the outcome; conservatives, liberals, the enemy and the MSM. We went into this knowing three of the four groups wanted us to lose. It should come as no surprise to us that we might lose.

It'd be like telling Hitler he can go into Poland and fix it.

"We no longer have reason to mock the French."

You mean work with our enemies to further our political goals?

You’re right. With that sort of thinking we might have allied with the Soviet Union or even supplied them with equipment. Thank God we never did that.

How about if we put an amendment to the Constitution as follow:

We stop fighting a war:

If we lose more than one thousand troops, or if the war lasts more than 3 months, or if the war costs more than 50 billion dollars, which ever comes first.

If the Left can have their way, we will have such an amendment.

Yes, but you cannot spare blame for Bush, Rumsfeld and the Pentagon Pussies, who failed to bring massive, ruthless power to bear in Iraq from the very beginning. In May 1945 we killed 100,000 civilians in Tokyo in a single evening. In Fallujah we sent our boys door to door like Avon ladies so we wouldn't have any bad press from "collateal damage". After the war ended in Germany, any uniformed "SS" officer was shot on sight without trial. MacArthur had nearly 1,000 Japanese executed, many of whom were merely Communist agitators. In Iraq we wouldn't even kill Al Sadr.

We have become completely and utterly soft in the West, and ripe for conquest by Islam. Unfortunately, to make things worse we have traitorous bastards like James Baker III, who is actively working towards that goal on behalf of his Saudi masters.

If this was like WWII there would have at least been a full mobilization to get Americans on an alternative to oil.

If we had been addicted to Mercedes and Toyotas you bet Americans would have found alternatives.

W's solution was for Americans to go shopping.
