At the moment, I only know who's representing three of the five Marines (the three with links to site with bios are below). I don't know who, if anyone, is representing Corporal Hector Salinas and Corporal Sanick De la Cruz.
Since charges will supposedly be announced the week of December 18th, time's of the essence. I'll try to reach Gary Myers early this coming week. He's given a lot of interviews and might be able to give me the big picture. Also, I have a call in to the head of the defense fund for Lance Cprl Tatum. I hope he can shed some light as well.
What I want to know first is: do all five have attorneys who are onboard for the duration? I hope to find out this week.
Here's info on the three lawyers onboard at the moment. The families must be making big financial sacrifices to pay these guys even a fraction of their fee and expenses.
* Gary Myers (representing Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt) Upon graduation from law school in 1968, Mr. Myers volunteered during the Viet Nam period for service in the Army JAG Corps, where he received a direct commission as a captain. Mr. Myers served in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1969 to 1973. Mr. Myers was a defense counsel in the My Lai trials. More recently Mr. Myers was defense counsel in the Abu Ghraib prison abuse trials.
* Jack B. Zimmerman (representing Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum). Mr. Zimmermann served 14 years on active duty in the Marine Corps, including duty as the commanding officer of two artillery batteries in combat, where he earned two Bronze Star medals for heroism and the Purple Heart for wounds in action. He served for 16 years as an officer in the Marine Corps Reserve, including duty as the commanding officer of the infantry battalion headquartered in Houston. He retired in 1994 as a colonel, and was presented the Meritorious Service Medal for his final assignment as a felony court-martial judge.
* Mark Zaid (representing S/Sgt. Frank Wuterich) specializes in litigation and lobbying on matters relating to international transactions, torts and crimes, national security, foreign sovereign and diplomatic immunity, defamation (plaintiff) and the Freedom of Information/Privacy Acts (FOI/PA). through his practice Mr. Zaid often represents former/current federal employees, intelligence officers, whistleblowers and others who have grievances or have been wronged by agencies of the United States Government or foreign governments, as well as members of the media.
Maybe "The Great One" can help.
