One of my vehicles is 16 years old and has 92K miles on it and one is 6 years old with 22K miles on it and one is 7 years old with 1K miles on it.

I'm 76, do you think I'll live long enough to put one million miles on anything? >:-}

Pssssssssst ~ none of my vehicles has a four cylinder engine which aren't as smooth running as V8's, my motorcycle has a 90° V Twin, which is smooth as glass.

My V8 SUV and My V8 pickup both have Bilstein shocks all around my motorcycle has Works Performance shocks ~ so, the V engines combined with the excellent shocks do not shake your bones.

90° V twins, V8's, V12's and V16's sound great, not so with with V6's and V10's.

I can't remember what a v4 sounds like. ;);)

Wow that is 58,906 miles per year.

I think this line may give us a tip as to the reason for the high mileage:

Gilbert originally purchased the Saab new in November 1989
after the divorce of his wife.

Maybe he was making sure he kept his distance from his ex-spouse!

I had 480K on my 94 Chevy S-10 until the "mechanics" collaterally damaged it bringing it up to smog.

My father had a 1982 Nissan B210 with 750,000 miles when it was totalled in a wreck. Far more impressive is the fact that the only semi-major repair it EVER needed was a clutch replacement. It still had the original water pump, starter, alternator, etc. Used no oil and ran perfectly. I took pictures of the odometer when it hit 500,000 and sent the story to Nissan, thinking they might be interested in using it in an ad campaign but all I got was a form letter in response.

I'm currently driving a 1998 GMC Safari Van with 240,000 miles on it. I'm on my 3rd fuel pump and have replaced the radiator, alternator, water pump, one belt, one battery, two door handles, one set of spark plugs, had the brakes turned twice, and nine of those gas lifts for the back window. I use nothing but Valvolene extended life motor oil and flush the transmission every 80,000 miles.

Awesome engine and transmission, runs like new.

You've got to be kidding? In '89 we had Chrysler LeBaron, Chevy Celebrity, Ford Festiva and Oldsmobile Calais which one of those have you seen lately?

I happen to drive an '89 Celebrity. It has 170K miles on it and runs smooth as silk. It's not a pretty car, but it does get me back and forth to work with no worries.
