The bill, while prohibiting the transfer of aid to the PA, will allow the US to offer limited aid to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian public as well as continued funding for aid programs.

Sounds more symbolic than anything.

The U.N is trying to intervene and send 'emergency supplies and money' to palestine- So, while we sanction palestine for their attrocious crimes against humanity- the U.N once again steps in and undermines our efforts to thwart a totally racist organization. http://sacredscoop.com

Laws can't be made retroactive. If the Donks make a move to overturn this law when they get into power, expect to see the GOP use it in '08.

I believe Hamas has been a listed terrorist organization for sometime now so meeting with them by US officials without State Dept. approval would have been illegal before this law.

Well .. democrat senators have already met with Hamas .. so now they can ban the activity .. and this means ..?? They don't want the repubs to be able to talk to our enemy .. when it's the dems who always do it anyway ..??

Sheeeeeeesh! I don't know if I'll survive this lunacy.

This is twilight zone time. Voting to ban talks with Hamas and yet we now have confirmation that Democrats have had secret meetings with Hamas.

It is called TREASON no?

Hamas Confirms Meeting with American Democrats
13:40 Dec 11, '06 / 20 Kislev 5767

(IsraelNN.com) Hamas officials have confirmed a WorldNetDaily report that terrorist organization leaders recently met with senior Democratic party members after the recent sweep of both houses of Congress in last month's American elections. The independent Arab news agency Ma'an quoted Ahmed Yousef, an aide to Palestinian Authority (PA) prime minister Ismail Haniyeh as saying the meeting was held. However, a Democratic National Committee spokeswoman said she has no knowledge that the meeting took place.

Details were withheld in order not to damage the image of the Democratic party, he added. Yousef said that Hamas leaders also spoke to leaders of key European countries, including British Members of Parliament.
