Rodney King Arrested In Pasadena, Calif.

(CBS) LOS ANGELES Rodney King, whose videotaped beating by LAPD officers sparked the 1992 Los Angeles riots, was arrested in Pasadena, Calif.

King, 41, was allegedly involved in a disturbance at a Pasadena clothing store on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Police officers were called to the scene and found two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for King. According to the Pasadena Star-News, King was arrested without incident. He was released after appearing in court on Wednesday morning.

King was born in Sacramento and became a symbol of police brutality when amateur photographer George Holliday videotaped four LAPD officers using batons to beat him after a car chase on March 3, 1991.

On April 29, 1992, a Simi Valley jury acquitted the officers of state charges that alleged excessive use of force, which sparked four days of riots in Los Angeles that left 55 dead, 2,383 injured and cost $1 billion in property damage.

Two of the officers were convicted in 1993 on federal charges of violating King's civil rights and served 30 months in prison.

You folks are missing the big news. He was ARRESTED. For a long time the various LEO agencies in So Cal had a very strick rule of 'do not touch Rodney King'. So something must have happened to change that or Mr. King was about to get his arese handed to him and the cops took protective action on his behalf.

He has a history of getting into alterations.

Well, he's certainly been taken in before.

Oh, he's been stopped and arrested in other places since then, including one in the Pittsburgh area a few years back. King is just a small time lawbreaker who never has learned his lesson.

You got some 'splainin' to do, bro.

No he doesn't. He has met society's expectations. And he'll meet a tragic end yet, of his own doing.

The Koreans have guns and will defend their property.

It will be easier to burn in liberal "gun free" areas.

I remember watching footage from the riots. It was a thing a beauty what the Koreans did to protect their property and themselves. They were told the cops couldn't help them.

OK, that's it, pal: you're under a vest.

Yeah, it'd be a no pun and shut case.

my step father is a retired actor who participates at some events requiring autographs. Rodney King is always showing up at these events. I don't know who would want Mr King's autograph, but you never know, takes all kinds to make up this world.

King is just a small time lawbreaker who never has learned his lesson.

Huh? Arrest is just part of his life, like going to the grocery store. He would miss it if he wasn't always on the edge.

It's the rest of us who haven't learned the lesson. We need to overcome all this PC stuff, put this scum away. WE haven't learned that.
