Gallagher Ga-Ga For Obama: 'Solid Ideas, A Moderate'
Fox & Friends Weekend | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 12/10/2006 4:28:50 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Let's be generous and chalk it up to the early-morning hour. Otherwise we'd have to come down hard on radio host Mike Gallagher, who as a guest on this morning's Fox & Friends Weekend went ga-ga for Barack Obama. It's one thing to acknowledge as did Mike that Obama has appeal as a candidate. But, interviewed by Keran Chetry, it was Gallagher's praise for Obama's substance that shocked, coming as it did from a putative conservative. Said Gallagher:

"He's got some pretty solid ideas. He's a moderate."

Moderate?? If Mike would check Obama's record, he'd find that in addition to having received a perfect 100% rating last year from the paleo-liberals at Americans for Democratic Action, a host of other ratings Barack has received screams "cookie-cutter left-wing Democrat":

* Planned Parenthood 100% in 2006.

* National Right to Life Committee 0% in 2005-2006.

* Americans for Tax Reform 0% in 2005.

* NAACP 100% in 2005.

* American Conservative Union 8 percent in 2005.

* Illinois Environmental Council 100% in 2003.

* Children's Defense Fund [Hillary's old beat] 100% in 2005.

* National Organization For Women 100% in 2005.

* NRA, 'F' in 2004.

* Federation for American Immigration Reform 0% in 2005.

* 2005 AFL-CIO 92%.

So just what are those ideas Mike finds "solid," and where is the proof of Obama's moderation? Come on Mike - have an extra cup of coffee and check the record to stave off recurrences of early morning bouts of Obamamania.

His pro-abortion voting record should be reason enough to get the conservative base out to vote against him. Unless, that is, the Republican candidate is not all that much different in his/her views on abortion. I'm thinking Rudy Guiliani, which so many seem to do a Gallagher on. You know, go Ga-Ga over.

Anyway, this article doesn't show much of a moderate to me:

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51121

"So, the reason Keyes said Jesus Christ wouldn't vote for Barack Obama was because of Obama's fanatical support of abortion to the point of condoning infanticide."

I doubt the unborn, and even those who are born, if not wanted by their mothers, would agree with Gallagher's idiotic belief that Obama is a "moderate."

Didn't see it but could it be part of a disinformation campaign by Gallager to hurt Hitlery???

The more Obama is promoted (BTW, he's not nationally electable) the more Hitlery has to turn hard left to maintain her base.......

You are desperate to have a radical social liberal head up the Republican ticket in 2008? Why go only partway? Linc Chaffee's available.

What's the matter? Are you too much of a conservative "purist" to tolerate Linc Chaffee as president?

Oh, I get it. You want Giuliani because he's supposedly electable. Got it. If Linc Chaffee were electable, you'd support him as well.

Principled conservatism ain't what it used to be.

Ronald Reagan, where are you? The same sort of knuckleheads who supported Ford in 1976 are swooning over his ideological twin, Rudy Giuliani, in 2006.

I think that's giving Mike too much credit for being Machiavellian!

Maybe yes...maybe no.....

Mike knows his base.....above all, he doesn't want to destroy his business....so what's his motivation?

We deserved the plastering we got. We richly deserved it.

True enough, but a platform of "the Repubicans have totally scrwed up, let us try for awhile" is not exactly an election won on the "strength of ideas."

we could keep claiming that "obama hussein is NOT a terrorist" over and over, which might confuse the people who would otherwise vote for him.
or maybe "there is not ONE iota of evidence that obama hussein was involved with the 9-11 attacks or the rape of darfur".

The MSM/DBM is emboldened to call the liberal wing of the Democrat party moderates and even conservatives, because they know people don't fact check their reports and they got away with it in November. Thanks for the reality check. The facts about Obama will come out when Hillary needs them. Hopefully this turns into a bloodbath between Obama and Hillary.

I suspect Osama Obama is running for the VP slot. No one is going to take down Clinton in the Democrat primary; that will be our pleasant responsibility.

is this the guy who smashes fruit?

This is the guy who uses the stage name Jeffrey Jones, best known as Principal Rooney on 'Ferris Bueller'.

He earns money by acting and actually has to PAY stations to carry his amateurish and lazy radio show!

Anyone who listens to Mike Gallagher knows, when Mike speaks there is no point for further discussion.

Gallagher...................................Jeffery Jones.

In November 2002, after having been accused of hiring a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photographs, Jones was charged with one felony count of employing a minor for purposes of taking sexually explicit photos and a misdemeanour count of possessing child pornography and released on $20,000 bail. In July 2003, after pleading no contest to the felony charge, he was placed on a sex offender register, given five years probation and ordered to undergo counselling. The misdemeanour charge of possession or control of child pornography was dropped.

Not even close to the same guy.

I listen to Mike's radio show sometimes...and he is one of these people that just make sense...conservative talk show host...you nod your head in agreement with him...

But, then, just out of the blue, he will take a position on a topic that is way out of left field...and I do mean LEFT.

Therefore, I listen to him for entertainment purposes ONLY.
