Democrats’ New Intelligence Chairman Needs a Crash Course on al Qaeda
Congressional Quarterly ^ | Dec. 8, 2006 | Jeff Stein, CQ National Security Editor

Posted on 12/11/2006 7:15:30 AM PST by PurpleMan

The dialogue went like this:

Al Qaeda is what, I asked, Sunni or Shia? “Al Qaeda, they have both,” Reyes said. “You’re talking about predominately?” “Sure,” I said, not knowing what else to say. “Predominantly — probably Shiite,” he ventured. He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Al Qaeda is profoundly Sunni. If a Shiite showed up at an al Qaeda club house, they’d slice off his head and use it for a soccer ball.

That’s because the extremist Sunnis who make up al Qaeda consider all Shiites to be heretics.

This is actually no surprise. For 6 years the Dems have considered Bush the enemy to such a degree that they are unable to identify the basic elements of real enemy.

I'm so glad they are in charge.

If they have not figured it out after this long, what makes anyone think that they ever will? They only have a one track mind that that is get rid of Bush.

The dems continue say they don't need a plan. That it's up to the President.

People bought into that bullship....hope they're satisfied.

3 1/2 years and hundreds of suicide bombings in Iraq and the future US Senate Intelligence Chairman doesn't know who the perps are.

Fan-tastic.

We need a Patton to take on, and take over the MSM.

This is getting ridiculous, they have ZERO opposition, and all the power.

We need a pushback every day, every hour, every minute.

"Democrats’ New Intelligence Chairman Needs a Crash Course on al Qaeda"

The 'crash' was the attack on the Marine barracks in Lebanon and the 'course' has been everything going on since then.

Ah, Government...we need more of it at every level of society....It doesn't matter if its a planning and building dork at the county level or the head of the congressional intelligence office...they are all so busy trying to look like they know what they're doing and sounding official...whqat a farce...it'd be better if they really did know something, but those people are few and far between and don't make it up the political ladder...I'd starve before I would work for the socialist behemoth...who needs AlQaeda when we've got good ole, aw shucks, USA politicians..

Come on, now. Give the five-term Texas Democrat, 62, Silvestre Reyes, a break.

Is Al Qaeda made up of Sunnis or Shiites? How do you expect Mr. Reyes to know the difference? Both are foreign words, starting with the same letter.

Mr. Reyes, along with his entire Democratic Party, is so consumed with getting back into the White House, that they don’t EVEN see the threat to our American way of life. Reyes can’t be bothered to even try to understand the threat.

But...but...the Dems are all so smart. They know everything.

How this guy stayed on the committee, much less became the chairman, is beyond belief.

I remember what a big deal they made in 2000 campaign when Bush couldn't knew Musharraf was the general who assumed leadership of Pakistan after the coup, but couldn't recall his name. This, however, will likely be no big deal to the pressers.

It seems nobody is taking their job very seriously. Just enough to get reelected. These people need the fear of God put back into them. Perhaps that is the only way things will get accomplished. God bless all the victims of the War on Terror
